Hi all.
I'm currently at 8 months of growing.
Every day when I wake up my hair gets very curly(altough it's usually wavy) and I need to wash it to return it to normal state.
Any idea how to solve this problem?
how about wearing a bathing cap to bed-- ?
At 8 months you should just be able to braid some of your hair, which will help it to hang in the right direction rather than curl all over the place. Even if you can't braid all of it, two or three smaller braids at night (not too tight) may solve the problem.
Make your daily shower/shampoo part of your morning ritual.
Cultivate (ocassionally?)the natural curly look.
Let it keep growing. The awkward stage knows many forms of torment, and patience is your only weapon.

May I add:
Make it part of the style. Where it scruffy- its the only way for a year. No point in neating it up because that will make it even longer so keep it a mess, let it grow, for about a year then start to trim the back so it becomes level with the front and sides.
Hey, my hair is just like that, i didn't think anyone elses was like this. The thing is mine is only wavy on top so when I wake up it is very curly but only on top making it look much more ridiculous. Anyway, the only thing I have seen that helps is not showering at night or in the morning... which is kind of impossible unless you never shower. Because even if I get in the shower and don't wet my hair the humidity messes it up. This isn't really a problem if your alone but if you sleep with someone it can be really embarassing in the morning.
Not really much you can do about it. I had the same problem, but in the end I deided it was easier just not to worry about it. Instead, I stoped wearing 'smart' clothes, switched to a casual look of jeans and T-shirts and just adopted a sort of Bohemian scruffy look. You'll be pleased to know, however, that once you have long hair, it stays neat overnight, especially if you have it in a pony tail.
So, just learn to accept that you'll look a littl emessy for a while and hang in there.
