Hi Guys,
My name is Marguerite and I'm a Freelance Writer from Toronto, Canada. I'm trying to write an article on men with long hair and I'd love to have some of you participate if you're interested.
I'm trying to get at the heart of the matter: What is life like for a man with long hair?
I think it's a valid enquirey as men with this aesthetic are not in the mainstream of things; there's something interesting and rebellious about a man who decides to grow his hair, would you agree?
If you're interested in participating, please contact me and I will send you some questions. Or, you can post a comment to this message about your ideas and thoughts on the matter.
Thank you for your help!
I would like to participate. :) email me questions. msimpson17@yahoo.com
Being from Canada, would it not perhaps be a good idea to do a survey of your own country first? Just curious. There are so many men in Canada with long hair and it just may be more interesting for the readers in your Country to have a survey of guys in their own Country first before taking on the whole world. Just a thought.
justin your avatar didn't pop up.......how strange
Let's see if it shows now Kevin. The email change is responsible and Vivien has been helpful in getting back some things in order. Just received an email from him this AM.
Well here goes-

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your interest!
There are some valuable opinions here that I will be sure to follow up with and over the next couple of days I am going to try and be in touch with you all.
Best,
M.
Willing to participate. E-mail me questions at Kailongbeard@yahoo.com.
My life seems reasonably normal with long hair. It has been long for a very long time.
I like the way it looks, even though it is not mainstream. I see nothing rebellious about long hair at all. It is natural for hair to be long, since God created it to be that way.
I would possibly be interested, and have quite a bit to say about males with long hair.

I have had long hair for most of the last 30 years or so. Last time I had to cut it short was more than 20 years ago. I almost forgot what it felt like when I had short hair - the thing that I remember most is the frustration caused by being forced to cut my hair. I have grown so used to having long hair that most of the time I don't think about it - but I won't even think of cutting it. My family and relatives have grown accustomed to it as well.
I was always the rebellious one in my family. Until 1988 I lived in Romania, which had at that time one of the most opressive communist regimes in Eastern Europe. The authorities frowned upon any elements of what the communist leadership labeled as "decadent burgeois Western culture and lifestyle", including long hair on men. I fled in 1988 and I ended up eventually in the US. A few years ago I married a wonderful lady who values my independent spirit and who would kill me if I cut my hair :-)
You can send me a personal reply if you are interested.

You can send your questions to me by e-mailing me through this site, as I'd rather not post my e-mail address. I think you can do this by clicking on my user name?
I'm a Brit who lives in the US. Doesn't that average out to a Canadian? LOL!
I'd say that's about right :-)
I wouldn't mind answering any questions you might have. I have some unique perspectives on the subject that I won't mention here, but I will say that I don't see long hair as being rebelious, even though I do see it as non-conformist. I choose to be myself rather than follow the crowd, but I don't do it to purposely defy what society considers "normal". I simply don't care what others think, rather than hoping for shock and awe.
I'd willing to participate if you wouldn't mind having some input from the high school crowd. My email is imanironmaiden@gmail.com
I'll be looking forward to seeing this article when you're done writing it.
Sure I'd be happy to help. However the email that this name is linked to is old so if you wanted to contact me, you can do it through my facebook page.
Look through my posts on this thread, it about sums up my head (but theres still more in there)
I'd love to be part of an interview or article or whatever you are doing.
Oh, and if you want to ask questions, billyfjarvis@hotmail.com or Billy Jarvis on facebook.
True, half my thoughts probably stem from being a pissed off teenager than just the hair, but they're there nonetheless.
I'd love to help out, I have lots of crap to tell you about. Haha. paulkmf@gmail.com
