Hi all-
After many fabulous years serving the MLHH, effective today, I have decided that it is time to leave my position as moderator and this superb board. Please be rest assured however that All is presently in the very best of hands behind the scenes with a great group of ever so dedicated extremely "hard working" moderators along with their superb president to assure that all will continue to tick like a clock for your own help, benefit and loyal support of long hair always.
I shall be sure to come back and post every now and then, for how can I ever forget this amazing place? Impossible!
Let us not forget however that this board would have ever been the great place it is today without the dedication, hard work and love put forth by our own beloved Bill Choisser to assure that the MLHH would remain solid and strong always and to run like a top far into the distant years ahead. We cannot thank Bill enough for all he has done for us.
Well, time to run along.
Blessings to each and everyone of you.
Bye all-
Justin~ :-)
Hey Justin,
ThankYOU for all you have done for the board, and for supporting my long hair journey from day one. You are a true gent.
Justin for President!!
Bye for now my friend ;-)
~ Dave
Hi Dave-
How about thanking YOU for all you have done to make this board as great as it is. Who, me for President? Ha Ha Ha. Didn't I already do that once? LOL :-)
Take care and thank you for writing.
Justin~
Justin,
A big warm thankyou for all you've done!
Likewise to all who have, and are, currently moderating.
Do enjoy your "retirement" from mlhh moderation.
- Oren
Hey Oren
Thanks ever so much and I WILL enjoy retirement for sure. I will always remember all of the faithful years you devoted to this board.
Justin~
You hvae CUT as well as departed?
Yes, I am departing. You can read and see videos as to why on my You Tube channel: "Musique3579."
Photo above is about what I will now get back to after exploring all kinds of things.
All the best-
Justin~
Thanks for everything, and do stop in to say 'hi' now and then. Sincerest best wishes in all of your endeavors...
--Val
Hey Val
So kind of you to thank me, but thank you for all of the many wonderful posts you have made. You are a great member for sure.
With all best wishes-
Justin~
Justin,
It's been great getting to know you here and also working behind the scenes as well. I wish you the very best in your future endeavors.
I do have to admit that I am shocked to see what is apparently a very short hair cut on yourself!
Take care,
Jason
Hey Jason! :-)
Same here and it was always great knowing you. And now you have such a lovely wife. I am very happy for both of you.
About the hair, if you go to my You Tube channel "Musique3579" you can read about "why" and there are a number of videos. I have explored a variety of shorter hairstyles and the photo above is now what I will get back to.
With all good wishes to you Jason and thank you for all you have done.
Justin~
Justin-
Where did your hair go!? Say it aint so, you where the anchor to long hair philosophy! However, Good Luck!
Below is presently enough to know and is right on my You Tube channel: "Musique3579." Thank you and best of luck always.
Justin~
*Due to the very high volumn of questions I am receiving, thought I would address the answer here. "Am I going to grow my hair long again?" Most likely no, but at the moment am enjoying all kinds of new hairstyles after having had long hair for well over 20 years! I was really forced into "shorter" due to 1. The Salon demolishment and 2. Surgery that resulted in alot of hair loss and all looked shabby as the hair continued to keep falling- out. All is now 100% ok after 9 months time thankfully. No "balding" in the slighest. I still champion the cause of long hair for guys and always will, and I will continue addressing questions in regards to the many long hair videos I have made in the past on this channel and welcome hearing from you always. Just time for myself to try out some new things as I move along in life. I am lucky to have such a wonderful bunch of loyal fans and I appreciate ea. and everyone of you. Take care all! :-)
Justin~
Well his advice is still good even if Justin does fancy a change and life would be boring if we were all the same. I'm sure there are other people out there :-)
Cheers,
John.
Hey there Justin,
First of all very nice pic of yourself as you look very relaxed and at peace with what you just told us today.Certainly Bill has done a tremendous job in preserving this awesome board but your contributions are not to be dismissed as in "I just did my job."Your our first President and your years of dedicated hard work are much appreciated. It's a job that not many are willing to tackle. You are leaving this board in capable hands but I certainly hope to see your interesting posts from time to time. You added an interesting outlook on things which makes this board so much fun to visit:)Well without going on and on I just want to personally thank you for all you've done here as I will never forget you my friend;)Do take care of yourself and enjoy yourself in whatever you choose to do in future adventures.Someday we need to meet as you are one that has eluded me to date.So instead of saying goodbye lets just say see ya later buddy:)Cheers..........your friend,
Hairball Mark
Hey Mark! :-)
At first I could hardly believe I was reading about myself. Did I really do all of those things? Well, let's just say I gave it a try, but indeed, Bill still deserves 95% of the credit.
You have always had the most wonderful way with words Mark and are a tremendous asset to this very fine group. Your dedication goes well beyond the average, and for this I both admire you and will be forever grateful.
And of a meet-up, for all you know I may suddenly be seen in Duarts delightful little restaurant seated at a table of longhairs (of which my own hair will be longer then as well) enjoying once again that Clam Chowder that I so well remember. But I must caution, after meeting the likes of me all may head in terror to Half Moon Bay and jump in! LOL :-)
Thank you for all you have done Mark and wishing you the very best in the days and years ahead.
Justin~
Justin,
You will be missed but not forgotten.
The best to you in whatever you do!!
peace, jonalbear
Thank you jonalbear for those words. You are one of the nicest people and always of such gentle support to the longhaires. Never a negative or mean word for anyone. I always treasured you as such a fine contributor to this Longhair Community.
My best to you-
Justin~
--------------------------------------------
Wow, is that you in that photo? You look so different as to be unrecognizable. Hopefully you will regrow your hair. Waist length hair looked the best on you for sure.
I can't imagine why you cut it, but you must have had a good reason. The only thing that comes to mind is treatment for cancer. (chemotorture) Hopefully that is not the case and you are in good health. Do keep in touch. You can e-mail me if you want. Even though we have never met face to face, I consider you a friend. Take care.
Scott
Hi Scott
Sorry you have missed the several reasons I have cut, but these reasons were well founded. 2 years ago I could never have forseen the events that were to unfold, and my hair was as above. Let's just say for now that other than the Salon disaster, what really did me in was a bout over a year ago with Precardia which resulted in a very brief episode of Cardiac Arrest on the operating table to which I was rushed. This is hard on the body and the after shocks of hair loss continued for 9 months. Something had to be done with the Cobwebs that were left. I am fine now Scott so please do not worry. The Farewell photo I posted is the shortest you will ever see my hair and it is presently growing back to get it as a "longish" hairstyle. I am having great fun trying all kinds of things now, but please remember that I have been no stranger to extra long hair since at least 1969.
You have always been one of the greatest inspirations of all Scott, and the scientific knowledge you impart to us all would have never been known had it not been for yourself. You have taught us so much and your long hair has always been of the greatest inspiration the whole time I was with the MLHH.
All the best to you my friend.
Justin~
Justin,
I wish you the best down whichever roads you choose to travel. Your efforts proved that a group of longhairs scattered all over the world can indeed come together to run their own web community, and for that legacy we will all be forever grateful.
My best,
Bill
Hi Bill
Thank you ever so much for the kind words, and coming from you makes them extra special. You were ALWAYS the best. So many here do not realize that had you not been with this board for so many years with dedication beyond what I have ever known possible, that most likely there would be no board today.
I hope you have been having a wonderful retirement with chances to travel and do things you have always wanted to do, see and have been interested in.
Would you believe I have as yet to climb Multnomah Falls this year? Raining here today and the Summer has been the most unusual I can ever remember. But of the Falls. Before Sept. is over for sure. Just beautiful. That whole Columbia River Gorge area.
With heartfelt thanks always, and please give my best to Larry.
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Thanks for all your work here, you were a very good member of the team. I hope you will still post from time to time.
Vincent
Hey Vincent-
You are entirely welcome amd sure, I will still be posting now and then.
Just to let you know that your own long hair growth goes beyond fabulous. And before I end, many many thanks to you for all of your help in the back room while you were here. It was a delight to have you with us.
Take care-
Justin~
I've enjoyed my period as a moderator here very much, it was the time when I was new to hair growing and it was a great experience.
Hi Justin,
Well, first, I'm a bit disappointed that you gave up the long hair. Meanwhile, I do admit that shorter looks quite good on you. Sure, different, but not bad. As you said after 20 years of long hair, it could be good to try others things.
And, second, you will be missed. And thank for what you've done for the board and the community!
Take care,
Vivien.
PS: I like the T-shirt you wear on one of your recent videos ;-)
Heyn Vivien! :-)
ALWAYS a pleasure hearing from you, and of that shirt you speak of, my favorite! (Rather goes along with my French-Style Impressionist music.)
Thanks for all you have said, and of the hair, this is a case of being actually forced into a situation (explained in several of my videos on You Tube) of which I had no control. Here is what I have posted to my main channel on you tube:
Hi all-
Due to the very high volumn of questions I am receiving, thought I would address the answer here. "Am I going to grow my hair long again?" Most likely no, but at the moment am enjoying all kinds of new hairstyles after having had long hair for well over 20 years! I was really forced into "shorter" due to 1. The Salon demolishment and 2. Just time for myself to try out some new things as I move along in life. I am lucky to have such a wonderful bunch of loyal fans and I appreciate ea. and everyone of you. Take care all! :-)
Justin~
So Vivien, with that in mind, hope you undestand better. I have found what I am growing back to now that Inm liked the best after about 7 different hairstyles since the very long was demolished.
Take care and thank you for all you are doing for the MLHH. You are an absolute gem and of the greatest attribute of the entire board.
All the best-
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Of course I am deeply saddened to know that you are leaving our team. You know how much I have valued your friendship, always there with kind words right from the beginning, when I made my first post to the hyperboard, some 4 years ago. It has been a genuine pleasure working with you, and please don't ever forget all the outstanding work that you have done for this community over the years. I remember how honoured I was to join the team as a moderator 3 1/2 years ago, under your kind and gentle hand as president.
I am most certainly looking forward to meeting you when I do make that trip out west in the future, and am so glad that we keep in touch regularly.
Take care, my friend,
David
Hey David
I will always remember what a great contribution you have made to this wonderfully strong and rock solid community, and thank you ever so much for such kind comments. Much appreciated. You are always just so gracious and kindly to all.
Being active here so long has for myself been not only rewarding, but fun as well.
My best to you always-
Justin~
I can only say I'm also a little shocked as well, and sad too.
Still, if you're happy, that's all that matters, and you have my suport. I remember back in the day when I joined this forum, you were one of the most kind and suportive people, and I really thank you for all your beautyfull words.
I wish you all the best, as well as to your family, and enjoy your new look =)
It's sad to see you go, but as long as you go happy and to be happier, it's all good =)
A hug for you Justin ^^
Thank you Joao and I appreciate more than you will ever know your very kind comments. (My hair, by the way is going to be longer than what you see in that photo.) If you want to know what happened, just look up my You Tube channel: "Musique3579" and I have it posted right on the main channel page.
You were always a most exceptional member and are still one of the greatest of all inspirations for guys wanting to have long hair. You have made some videos that show the hair in such an artistic way. Great work and still more inspiration for so many that want long hair but are afraid of what people might say.
My best wishes to you always Joao and it was a pleasure the whole time I was here.
Justin~
Justin your contributions go way back and your humour legendary. I was always so grateful to have all your knowledge and wisdom to benefit us. If nothing else you showed us not take life too seriously and always have fun. It was a pleasure to have been able to meet you last year and to have seen you with longhair before the "trim". One thing is for sure nothing lasts forever and change is a good thing so enjoy your change and do continue to pop in from time to time.
Of one thing I'm certain........"The world will hear from you again".
Cheers and take care.
Kevin
Hey Kevin
As always, such a superb gentleman you always are and with such a wonderful way about you and your very great concerns that this great board continue on with making sure every detail is in fine-tune for the betterment of everyone. As president, you are the greatest, and wow........how this MLHH is ever so blessed to have you to guide its course in triumph well into the future. I admire your caring ways, something we don't see that much of these days anymore.
And of actually meeting you in person last year along with JohnB., that was truly a special highlight of my entire life. I shall NEVER forget the extremely warm hospitality and the great fun we had on that visit. Thank goodness I have but one photo of us all together taken outside that restaurant just east of the "Family Town" in Cornelius.
Thank you Kevin for all of the wonderful things you have said about myself above. Indeed I feel ever so honoured, especially coming from you.
And now I leave, feeling confident that this wonderful
board could not possibly be in more capable hands than it is with yourself at the helm. This gives me the greatest peace of mind of all. If only everyone here knew how hard you work, of the hours spent, and of your utmost sincere devotion to the long hair cause.
My best to you always Kevin-
Justin~
Hi Justin,
OMG what have you done!
I have to thank you from the rest of us in giving and taking the time to help us in "the back room". For also bring some fun and laughs to the community and as we know life is not all serious thats for sure.
Longhair or shorthair you are a great friend to have around and both Kevin and I enjoyed our visit or Portland and dinner last year.
As Justin says go and have a look at his wacky world of You-tub and I'm sure all become clear :-)
Don't you are be a strange and as Kevin has remaked from our old friend from china :-)
Cheers,
John.B
Hi John
I barely know where to start when it comes to yourself. You have been with this board even longer than myself, and are so well known and loved as to be legend here. Your many tasks and hard work both on the board as well as a moderator as an actual "DO SOMETHING" individual I dare say could NEVER be matched! And of all the encourgement you have given to this longhaired community throughout the years, I dare say could never be equalled by anyone else. Simply amazing.
You have inspired simply so many guys that may have given-up on their journey to arrive at beautiful long hair for probably close to a decade now? In any event, as long as I have know of you. Always so unselfish in giving of your time. Just think, without your words of encourgement, so many guys would have given-up and fallen by the wayside. But no, you saved the day for them.
To say it has been a joy working with you would be such an understatement. Indeed, I admire ever so much your loyal devotion to the cause.
I feel so blessed that I was actually able to meet you, now almost a year ago, (seems like a dream) and how you made the effort to go so out of your way to find me here almost off the map in this Northwest area in which I live. Indeed you have touched the hearts of so many and I am sure will continue to do so in the years ahead.
John, thank you for being the great person that you are. And, thank you for the ever so nice things you have said about me.
Take care-
Justin~
ps: I will be sure to come back and post from time to time.
Bye Justin! Even before I found this place, your YouTube channel encouraged me to stick out the awkward stage while my hair was growing out!
Hey Devon! :-)
Man, have you EVER got such killer great long hair and so glad I was of some help so that you stuck it out through the Awkward Stage. I am sure you will have no regrets, but if you do, the solution is so easy when going the other way........just don't let a stupid Salon and illness acount for it however. Yikes! :-0
All the best to you Devon and thank you ever so much.
Justin~
I do hope you do check in once in a while. After all you are still a longhair at heart! Thanks for all your support to all of us!
Take care,
Bruce
Hey Bruce! :-)
I rather think you may well have been here even before I was and always such a joy to have you posting to this board.
Thanks ever so much for the wishes and I in turn wish you all the best in the years ahead.
Don't worry. I will be back to "haunt" this place and even make some postings until I am finally caught by the "Butterfly net!"
Take care-
Justin~
Just so's ya know. Watchin' your you tube vids led me to this site and and helped in my final decision to abandon the corporate cut (albeit longer than "normal" and grow my hair back out. Loved the info and your old friend ways. I hope you do indeed come back to say "Hello" Stay Mellow, ya ol' Hippie!
Hi Jason W.
Glad those vids have helped you. Think total are something like 22 about long hair. I probably get enough emails in a week to equal 5 months here. Just amazing how that YT audience has been so refined and no trouble makers. But, there is a wealth of info here and if you haven't, please see the "links" section for a gold-mine of long hair info. Especially be sure to read the thesis bu Bill Choisser. Very important and the best ever written.
Don't worry, the 'Ole Hippie will stay mellow and now that I have tried about 7 different hairstyles (which I didn't show the YT audience nor the guys here), I am on my way back to style #2. Probably will be there in 8 months I would guess.
I will continue making some vids with myself in it, but from now on most likely just some funny and fun things to watch like "Abduction at Mt. View" or "McDonalds Demolished." Of course classical music videos which was my original intent when starting on You Tube.
Many many thanks.
Justin~
Justin, I am sad to see you leave but am happy that you're doing what's best for you. I haven't had long hair for as long as you did, and maybe after such a long time, one wants to try out short hair again. Certainly not a bad thing and I support you 100%.
I am sorry to hear about your health problems and hope that you're alright now. I rarely post on this board nowadays but you've always stood out to me as one of the most sincere and kind members. Your encouraging words about my own hair growth inspired me to resist the discrimination and grow my hair no matter what other people said. You've definitely put a lot of work into this and you should know that we are all grateful to you for that.
Again, I am sad to see you go. You were one of the most important people in my own hair growth journey. I think I speak for everyone when I say we will miss you.
Take care Justin, and do visit sometime!
Peter
Hi Peter
Actually, had it not been for the Salon episode followed by surgery to save my life, today I would STILL have very long hair and never given a thought to shorter. So, kinda doing some experimenting now because long hair that hangs like cobwebs and tangles by the second, continues to fall-out comes to a point where there is no salvation left to save it. It WILL end up longer than the photo I posted. More like the one you see here.
I am fine now and thank you for your concern. Thank you for all of these kind words which are so appreciated and I know come from the heart.
So glad I was able to help you, but fear not.......I will be back every now and then and heavens only knows being myself just what I may come out with. LOL :-)
My best to you Peter.
Justin~
Justin,
This is Jin from Singapore. Thank you for everything that you've done for the board, and its members. Short or long, you still do look great.
Farewell for now, and take care.
Hey Jin
Great hearing from you and hope all has been well with you and that your long hair is as gorgeous as ever. You certainly were/are one of the most sensational inspirations of all when it comes to great long hair.
I was more than happy to have done what I was able to and to have been with this great board for such a long time. No regrets at all.
So nice to hear from you and thanks ever so much for your very kind words.
Take care-
Justin~
Justin,
I just had to de-lurk when I saw this news. Being a subscriber to your Youtube videos, I knew about your hairstyle experimentation, but this was still surprising to me.
You are one of my most influential inspirations to stay strong during the long hair journey (about 20 months for me now). From the beginning, your videos and posts on this board provided me with invaluable information (and humor!)
Whenever I am dealing with a tough bunch of people who discourage my new look, I always go back and watch your "Long Hair and more. Live life for yourself, not as others dictate" video. It really helps me put things in perspective and stay strong with my decision. I will always value your wisdom.
I hope you continue to come back to the board and also post Youtube videos. I enjoy them all, including your compositions (I am a musician myself, though I lack the talent you possess!)
Thank you again for all you have done, you truly influenced my life in a remarkable, positive way.
-Dan H.
*Thank you Dan H. for all of these most sincere and kind commets. I DO appreciate hearing from you and learning of this.
I am SO HAPPY that I was able to help you and that you are now so far advanced with your own long hair growth. Not all that many more months from now, any harassing you are getting from friends or whoever who have nothing better to do than throw barbs at you will have given-up and that is when the compliments begin to be heard. Just wait, you will find out. :-)
I "think" I have located the particular video of which you have spoken and will post it below this response for any other guys here that may be interested.
Oh, don't worry about future videos. There WILL be some coming up for sure either on music, a little something about hair, or especially amusing little comedy skits of a most crazy mannor. LOL And you WILL see posts by myself from time to time on this board.
Again, I thank you ever so much for taking the time to write and appreciate your words more than you could possibly realize.
All the best-
Justin~
Composed July-August 2010. This is #2 of my Three Etude-Impromptus. #3 is presently under construction and I may possibly finish it within a week or less. Then the cycle set of 3 Etude-Impromptus will be complete as a whole.
Hope you like.

Thank you for making this board continue to be a great place to be. I can remember back when the only way to access it through Victor's the-light site, and it has grown (ha ha) bigger and better ever since. Good luck, and hope to see you haunting the place from time to time.
Hey "bte"
Yes, all has grown and I would say about 90% of its success is due to the work of Bill Choisser. It is HE that deserves the most credit of all for this board.
And sure, I will "haunt" this place every now and then and surely well before Halloween when I suddenly turn into a Pumpkin! LOL
Thank you for your wonderful words.
Justin~
Thank you very much, Justin, for all of your hard work! Don't be a stranger!!!
Take care!
Brett
Growing my hair out again!
Hey Brett! :-)
You are very welcome and it has been a complete pleasure all these years. And wow..........did they EVER go by quickly.
Promise not to be a stranger, but you must remember that I am really "Stranger than Science!" LOL
All my best to you Brett.
Justin~
Well Justin, it's been great talking to you via the boards. Best of luck in the future, and take care of yourself.
Jim
Thanks Jim, and you take care as well. You have the most wonderful long hair without question and always such a pleasure seeing you on the board.
With all good wishes always-
Justin~
WOW, Justin, from my perspective of recently being without a computer for over 3 weeks, seeing this post at the top of the MLHH page is like hearing about all the recent hurricanes brewing in the tropical Atlantic. In other words: just because the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico are rather far away from my home along the Pacific, doesn't mean that collateral damage from a potential "hair hurricane" (like your short haircut pic shows here) doesn't strike a bit of terror in this old longhaired geezer's heart!
Be that as it may, hair hurricane or not, I've always admired your spirit -- you obviously live life to the fullest, and are unafraid of change (including changes in your hair length and style)... So far as I'm concerned, regardless of your exterior hair length, you will always be a longhair on the inside -- because the spirit of independence in your thinking makes you so!
I will always fondly remember our time of working together on the MLHH Moderating Crew, especially weathering all kinds of crazy behind-the-scenes hair typhoons -- including a few that I recall as maybe "Category 5" (LOL).... It was a trip!!!
Go forth, young man (well, "young in spirit", at least - LOL), and I hope you always continue to live your life boldly!
AND.... please do come back and at least visit us now & then!
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken
Hey Ken
So wonderful hearing from you as this "Hurricane Justin" blows outta here at long last. But the whole experience was more than worth it and yes, inside I am a longhair at heart and will always champion the cause. Just at my age and what I have been put through with absolutely no way of saving my hair, I have decided on something shorter. Just don't have the time now to wait 5-6 years to get back to where I was. OMG.........if I did I would be 107 years old! (And, if you believe that, then you will know that presently Pink Elephants are flying all around the room I am in at the computor. And to think.......I have no peanuts to give them for supper. LOL )
Ken, you were and are simply the greatest and the whole time you were in the "back room" on those lovely 100% authentic imported plastic chairs as a moderator, you gave and did so much. Your sense of humor and good natured spirit will NEVER be forgotten. It has been the greatest pleasure knowing you.
And oh..........how I remember your love of the colour "Marroon." Still saving that coat special just for you to present as a gift in case we ever do meet-up. It will blow you up.......i,i,i mean blow your mind just how beautiful it will look on you. Sorry to be nishing or neeshing words here. LOL :-)
Take care Ken and most likely we will meet up on this board at some time again in the future.
Now, how could I possibly leave without giving you a bit of a puzzle to decode? Nothin like a little challenge late Friday night to end the week with. So, here it is:
"AINHS." (unscramble that and it is sure to bring a smile to your face for sure.)
Bye Ken and thank you for everything.
Justin~
ps: The photo was one of 7 different shorter hairstyles I tried. This experience was actually alot of fun doing many different things just to "see" what I might like the best. But to this particular one, I am now headed back.)
You take care ok
Just remember like palm trees can survive hurricanes so can hair.
Justin, thanks for all the support and future support on my hair journey! I think you look awesome even with short hair :)
Hi Mark
You are much too kind. Thank you ever so much. What you see for hair is quite short, but it is growing back to a style I had tried 3 months ago which ended up my favorite.(See posting below for photo.)
My best to you Mark. Wishing you a great weekend! :-)
Justin~
Thanks for giving a place for advice and friendship. A simple thank you doesn't seem enough. Good luck in your new adventures.
Charlie
Hi Charlie
Many thanks for writing and a simple thank you is more than enough. I appreciate very much hearing from you. Take care and wishing you a great weekend.
Justin~
Jeeze man I hate to hear it. It's been nice knowing you Justin, don't be a stranger.
Paul
See you, I'll won't forget all the influence you supplied. Sorry to reply so late, hopefully you can read this.
