Hey folks, Its been a while since i last posted. I dont know if any of you will rember but precisely 4 months ago i clean shaved my head with a razor blade. I realised this grosse error of judgement and have been growing since then, but my problem is thus...
It is very annoying and i dont know how to style it, it is all curly at the back but i am desperate not to get a trim as i know you guys always advise against this. Also, it is about 2in long at the sides and real thick, but on top it is about 1 1/2in and seems thinner, so should i have it evened up at the sides or what. It seems to have stopped growing the past month and im at a dead loss.
Thanks for any help folks.
I think something about being a man is the urge to do something. It's not all there is to being a man, but at 42 I look back and see that much of my time has involved the urge to do something. Sometimes, the thing to do is nothing. This is one of them. Do nothing. And in two months, do nothing. And a year from now, do nothing--if you want long hair.
Growing hair out can truly be an experience of self-realization, even a spiritual practice. It will daily challenge your sense of your self and show us how consumed we are with what other people will think of us when they see us like this. Each of those encounters is a change to let go of the craziness that drives us, and do nothing. Your hair is great right now just the way it is. And it will be tomorrow, and next month and next year and two years from now. But, guess what? Right now is all we ever get.
Do nothing. And then, if you like, use a little gel or mouse in it. You probably won't like the way it looks with that either, so, do nothing there, too.

Well said. Emphasize the "image" in self-image. Quite a lesson in psychology is growing out your hair! (Okay, yes, that sounded a bit like Yoda).
Braaaavohhh! Indeed, a large majority of the items on a list of "what people do to their hair" harms one's hair. Well put!
I'd recomend trimming the back every month until it's even.
Eventually...You'll be able to style it whichever way you want and...
You'd escape the awkward stage faster.Let the sides top and front grow
but keep the back at a certain length.I'm not sure how it will work
for you but i'm helping style someone elses hair who went bald... and
it seems to be working out nicely.
