Hi Hairy People,
Long time no post!
Thanks to Mark ("Hairball") visiting the West Coast this week, I got off my lazy butt and had a fun day off doing some San Francisco sight-seeing 'round about town. We met up with Bill & Larry for lunch, followed by taking some wacky plant pics in Golden Gate Park's Strybing Arboretum Botanical Gardens.
My humble apologies to Scott ("Absalom") and Trolleypup, both of whom got extremely short notice about Mark being in town, and planning to meet up with him on Wednesday. We also chose not to post anything about having a longhair meet-up here on MLHH, due to a weird local stalker guy that has been a problem in the past. Other than those two odd-ball little glitches, it was a terrific day!!
Here's a pic that Mark took of me when we went to the top of Twin Peaks at the end of our day together. i have to admit that I almost don't recognize myself, having colored my beard that very morning with the "Just for Men" facial hair dye (supposedly "lightest brown" - HA! - yeah, right!) -- my partner now calls me, "Blue Beard (LOL)....
Enjoy the pics (more to follow, including of Mark, and also of Bill & Larry...)!!
- Ken
Here's our own Mark "Hairball", face-to face (or rather, I should say: SHADING Mark's face!) with a giant Gunnera leaf (AKA "Chilean Rhubarb")...
Hi Ken,
Well let me help you as I was marveling over all the photos you e mailed me last night as I even held off my bed time to view them all!LOL.It was an honor and a pleasure meeting you Bill, and Larry that day and I loved your tour of the city.If you ever need a second job I think a tour guide is right up your alley:)You certainly have the personality for it.Well today's my last full day here and I'll be sad to leave.Fear not as the saying goes ....."I'll Be Back!"
Mark
Hi Mark,
I hope you had a good trip.
I have to say that's rather a large leaf and you certainly would take alot to roll something in that!
Cheers,
John.B
Man how come y'all got all the cool stuff, back here in Ohio, BAH!
Thas one big azz leaf lol!!
Hi Ken,
Glad you all had a great and I wondered if Mark was visiting the lowwer west side this week :-)
Yes our fav stalker! Still I'm sure you all had a wonderful meetup and not being bothered by un-welcome people.
Cheers,
John.B
PS....not using the beard dye Ken lol!
Hi Ken,
How awesome that you had a chance to meet up with Mark, Bill, and Larry, and having had the chance to meet Mark personally just over a year ago, I can attest to how terrific a guy he is. Hopefully, if I do have the chance to make that trip to the west coast of the USA, I will have the pleasure of meeting you as well. This is a great photo, and your hair looks good and thick here, and that is cool about the beard as well. My own beard retains its wide selection of colours, with more and more silvers slipping in every day.
Take care,
David
(PS. Hopefully, you will find a way to post your photo of Mark as well, sorry it didn't work)
Hey Ken, Your hair and beard are looking great. Why not be a tourist in your own town? San Francisco is a beautiful city!!
peace, jonalbear
It's always good to see you posting Ken! Your hair and beard do look good and add a special touch to the backdrop of the city.
I think it's fantastic that you could give Mark the nickel tour of the city while he's visiting the left side of the map.
Bruce
What a great view!
I would do some touring if I lived there too.
I'm a bit jealous.
At least I have the great weather and beautiful trees. =)
Looking good there Ken! Beautiful hair and view at the same time :)
Steve and I love "The City" And would have moved there instead of Phoenix, but it is so blamed expensive. We aslways enjoyed the visits, though, Twin Peaks is our favorite bar, We walwys got the ssame table, it was wierd, Once, as we entered, the bartender sees us and says. "Good afternoon, gents, your table is ready"...it was uncanny. Such beautiful scenery, The Golden Gate is one of my favorite man made objects, along with the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and tall ships. One day, we will return.
Sounds like you all had a great time!
Thanks for the pics, and happy growing.
No worries, it has been crazy with work and life with me, so wouldn't have been able to schedule it anyway.
Arrrrrrrh matey. He'll be swabbin the mistmastwith ye!
Good photo my friend, but I prefer the "natural beard"
Hope one day to have you play tour guide in SF for me.
Charlie
Hi again fellow longhairs,
Thanks so much for all the great replies!
I wanted to post more pics from last Wednesday's meet up; but I was having trouble getting other pics to be accepted by MLHH. Even Bill's handy photo resize utility rejected what I sent (LOL) -- so much mystery to what I just don't understand about computers!
I usually work weekends (and am away from any computer for 4 days in a row), but am taking today off to attend an outdoor dance event... When I get back later this evening, if I have some extra time I'll attempt posting more of Wed.'s pics.
Thanks again for all the nice comments -- and keep those protein strands growin'!

Ken,

Apology accepted, Ken. It was too short notice for me. If I had been able to plan ahead a few days, it would have worked for me.

Oh you ALL have such BUSY lives over there. Perhaps you need to build some flexibility into your schedule!
