Well as a followup to Ken's post below I just returned home from a fabulous week in the Bay Area.It was a blast meeting some of the local longhairs from the area some of which are from this board.I also had the chance to drop down to Santa Cruz and noticed many longhairs about there as well:)Too bad the time went so fast as I would have loved to spend much more time out west.Anyway thought I'd share a couple pics to supplement what Ken had shared.Hope all of you have been doing well:)Cheers
Mark
Here is a pic Ken took of me up at Twin Peaks as the famous SF fog started rolling in later in the day.
Hi Mark,
Glad you had a good time over on the lower west side :-) You should try and visit out planet of cream cheese and he have so many interesting places and people to meet as well :-)
I thought you had plans on moving over to that part of the world in the future.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi John,
Yes this my second trip to the west coast this year and I never seem to tire of it.Guess I should diversify and travel to some new places as there is a lot of world to see out there. My plans of possibly moving west are kind of bogged down due to the rotten economy.Have to see how things go over the next year or so.Hope you are having a fine weekend out your way my friend.Cheers
Mark
looking good hairball!
Ha Ha, well I try. Thanks for the compliment:)Cheers
Mark
Hi Mark,
How awesome that you were able to have this meetup, and have the opportunity to meet such wonderful people. These are great photos, and perhaps one day, I will indeed get out west to San Francisco, and the entire US west coast. It was a pleasure meeting you just over a year ago, and hopefully, we can do it again if I make a return trip to the USA.
Take care, and have a safe trip home.
David
Hi David,
It was certainly a fun trip this time but the trips just go soooooo fast.Just as I get into the swing of things it's time to go home again. You should definately make plans to travel out west as its great country out there. Now that you are retired you can stay way longer than I'm able to.Hopefully we can get together again in the future but regardless I'll always remember our meetup in north jersey:)It was great dining and chatting with you that evening.Have a great weekend and don't get too sun burnt on the fairways my friend:)Cheers
Mark
Hey Mark,
Too bad we didn't think of renting a "merman" costume for you while we were walking around the Sutro Bath ruins. With all that fog and the nice waves rolling in, it would have been the perfect setting for you to look like you "mysteriously" appeared out the the sea -- a longhaired vision of half-man / half-sea creature from the cold waters of the Pacific!
No, I haven't been watching too many Disney movies recently, nor have I been smoking any questionable substances (LOL) -- just a strange & wild imagination after looking at this pic again!
OK, seriously now....
It was GREAT seeing you again, and I had a terrific time spending the day with you on Wed. -- let's do it again soon!!!
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken
Hi Ken,
Hmmm, the merman costume sounds interesting and being its getting very close to Halloween it might have been worth trying in another few weeks if I was visiting then!LOL.
Seriously it was great spending the day with you and having lunch with Bill and Larry near GG Park.Your pictures came out great and I thank you for sending them to me.Don't worry as I plan to be back again next year:)Thank you so much for your hospitality Ken:)
Mark
Hey Mark, it's nice to hear about another longhair meet in the Bay Area. I'm glad that you were able to visit since the withering (and NOT over!) recession has delayed your plan to move. My only longhair meet ocurred in San Francisco in 2008. It's too bad that there aren't more meets here in Phoenix.
LongManeDude
Hi LongManeDude,
Yes, I vividly remember all those pictures posted from your SF meet up back in 2008.You were fortunate having such a large turnout for that event.Even though my meet up this time was smaller it was still a blast being with the guys who attended.I definately plan a return trip in the year ahead.
Mark
Nice shots of you Mark (this and the Gunerra leaf one)! I'm glad you had nice time.
- Oren
Hi Oren,
It's always fun visiting the bay area and doing a meet up is getting like a tradition since my last several trips there.Glad you liked the pictures I posted and thanks to Ken for being the photographer.Hope all is well with you Oren as your updates are always cool to see:)Cheers
Mark
Hi Mark,
Wonderful pictures... I wish I could be there right now :)
Cheers,

Hi Tom,
I'd start saving and get on a plane. The people are very nice over there and always worth a visit.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi John,
I agree, people are very nice over there indeed. I had some plans to visit California again in October, but I had to bury them for a while (my plans, not the people). Oh well...
Cheers,

Hi Tom,
Thanks for your thumbs up on the pics:)I love visiting the bay area but the trips are just too short!Oh well I know I'll be back again next year. Can't come fast enough for me though;)
Mark
Hi Mark
Wow........good thing I "lurked" today and saw this as well as posted something above before the Boat goes out of range.
Great photo and what a shame that because of the stalled economy you couldn't just pick-up and move out to where all the fun is. Glad you made the trip Mark. Well worth it for sure. :-)
And, Santa Cruz? LUCKY!!!!!!
Take care-
Justin~
Hi Justin,
I always enjoy my west coast excursions but what a let down it is when I have to board that plane to return east. The week I spend out west is like a drop in the bucket.I was mostly in the SF Bay area but did take one day to drive south to Santa Cruz. You have to savor that beautiful drive down the coast highway:)Hope all is well with you my friend and that retirement from the board has been treating you well.Glad to see you drop in on occasion at your port stops during your voyage:)Cheers
Mark
Hey Markie-babes
Great picture mate! Really dramatic and you look really cool in it. Have you let your beard grow long this year? Looks cool anyway.
Glad you had a fun and safe time, thats an area I would like to visit one day.
Take care buddy
~ Dave
Hi Davieeee:)
I'm so glad to see you on the board again as I really missed you after your departure from the crew last year.
Well thanks to our own Ken aka Urban Cowboy, he has been giving me great tours of the SF Bay area the last couple times I've traveled to the west coast.Being he is a resident there he really knows the area well and has taken me to some really cool areas of the city. That picture was taken right at the coast with the Pacific Ocean in the background. You should try and visit there someday as you won't be disappointed. It's a beautiful area so different than where I live on the east coast.
As for the beard.....yes, I have been experimenting in letting it grow longer but I don't think I'll let it catch up to my hair!LOL.If I wanted I could place it in a tiny ponytail:)
Hope all is well with you Dave and do keep up the postin'! Cheers my friend

Sorry I missed you on that Wednesday. It was too short notice for me.
It looks like the ruins of the Sutro Baths. To find that place in operation, you would have to rewind the decade clock nearly six revolutions. (It closed in August of 1952.)
I am trying to get caught up here. I am way behind on things, so far behind, that I filed my 2009 taxes today.
I really enjoyed seeing you at the party, and hope to see you again in the future.
Scott

Hi Scott,
Hey, don't worry about missing last Wednesday as at least we met
at the party on Saturday. That was a lot of fun and we did get the chance to hang out together for a while.I'm sure on a future trip we will be able to get
together.
Wow, I can't believe you still had to do your taxes for last year as it's getting
close to the time to think about this years taxes.Oh well
make em wait that's all;)lol. Cheers
Mark
I'm glad you both enjoyed Will's party and was nice to go a few years ago :-)
Yes John it was my first one and I really enjoyed the rooms filled with longhairs:)Hopefully I can make it to more in the future.I think this year was his 12th annual.
