Hello everyone, and I hope all of you are doing well in your own hair growing journeys. I admit to not doing updates all that often these days, since there isn't all that much point in doing so. Since my hair grows very slowly, it doesn't change that much from day to day. However, since we had some cooler, dryer weather later, and my hair didn't look too bad, I took a few quick photos the other day, and decided to "cobble together" an update. My hair doesn't like summer heat and humidity, and is happier, and has less frizz in the fall and winter.
I did see an increase in growth from earlier photos, and it is only by looking at past photos that I do realize that it is still growing. If only I could achieve 2 or 3 more inches, I could almost say that I am at waist length.
I took a photo from the front. It is longer than my avatar photo, and perhaps it is time for a new avatar!
I also took a photo of my ponytail, and even though it is a little messy here, it does show that the ends are not too far from my beltline.
Although I would love to have both thicker and longer hair, I am reasonably content for what I have at the ripe old age of 57 years and 3 months. At least the hairline is reasonably good, so I have no right to complain.
Thank you to all who might be reading today, and thank you for your support over the years.
David,
You hair looks great and nice to know it is still growing. Mine is as well. I measured a 30 1/2 inch long hair the other day. Previous measurements have only been 27 or 28 inches long. Keep up the great work and thanks for the update.
peace, jonalbear
Hi Jonalbear,
Thank you for your kind words, and hopefully, I can achieve at least a few more inches in my mane. Your thickness has always been an inspiration to me, and that is cool about your 30 inch length hair!
Take care, and peace,
David
Hello DavidN,
Yes your hair may be slow in growing but what is great is that someone like you can offer to others that there is still hope for slow hair growers to still achieve their hair goals in time....and your very correct to count your positive blessings at 57 with a still respectable predominantly full head of hair, natural silver highlights growing in gracefully and a wonderful length indeed given the time it has taken to grow.
The ends may not be as thick as you would like but I think personally your hair is fantastic for a fellow of your cohort and you undoubtedly have retained more hair on top then many men of the same age. Count your blessings my Canadian friend.
Cheers,
Duncan
Hi Duncan,
Thank you for such a kind and encouraging post, my friend, and I really do feel fortunate for what I have at my age. All the best in your hair growing journey as well, and I look forward to your next update.
Cheers,
David
You have come a long ways my man! Hair is looking super healthy and long for sure! Your def at waist length now and couldn't look better. :) Thanks for the awesome update my friend!
Hi Mark,
Thank you, my friend, for your encouraging words. Since waist length is actually a bit above my belt line (I have never been able to figure out exactly how far "waist length" is above "belt length", though), perhaps I could actually call it very close to waist length! If I could achieve a couple more inches, there would be no doubt.
I look forward to your next update too!
Take care,
David
Great progress! Hope those extra two inches or so come soon.
Hi Bte,
Thank you for your kind words. Currently, my growth rate averages a couple of inches a year or so, so perhaps in another year, I will be close to my goal.
Take care,
David
Hey David what fabulous pictures of you and your great mane! It's been
quite a while since you done an official update and what an update it is:)
You' ve managed to grow out some nice quality hair that looks well taken
care of.What a long way you have come from when you first joined the mlhh.
I remember way back then all the problems you endured not knowing how
to properly care for your hair.So great job my friend as you make an outstanding
longhair that all can look up to.Thank you for your update and continued hair farming:)Cheers!
Mark
Hi Mark,
Thank you so much for your kindness, and for your friendship over the years, which I value highly. You have supported my journey right from the beginning, which I really appreciate. It was a genuine pleasure meeting up with you just over a year ago, and perhaps if I make that trip to the USA in the not too disatnt future, we can do it again.
Take care,
David
Hi David,
Thank for taking the time and posting such an amazing update. You hair is looking really amazing and all those different colours as well. So it's still growing and that's wonderful to know.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi John,
Thank you for your encouraging words, and as for those "natural silvers", I do enjoy them as the slowly take over the colour in my mane!
Cheers,
David
Now that's a great update David! I can definitely see increased length and it's looking very healthy too. I think you and I are in a similar boat at this stage of our growing. My gains are very slow to be apparent but I take courage from your update!
Hi Jason,
Thank you for always being so encouraging for me over the years, and I genuinely value your friendship too. Together we can definitely achieve our goals!
Take care,
David
Great to see it's still growing and looking in excellent condition.
Thanks for the update
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Thank you for the encouragement, and if I could achieve your length in the future, I would be very happy.
Take care,
David
Wow that looks great, it really is getting quite long!
Hi Matt,
Thank you for your kind words, and I look forward to your future progress of your thick mane as it grows longer!
Thank you again,
David
Looks good. I like the color and the sheen. Your hair is very healthy. I am looking forward to the day when I will sport such a tail.
Hi Jason,
Thank you for your encouragement, and I am happy for what I have at my age. I also enjoy my "natural silvers" as they slowly take over! Best of luck to you in your own hair growing journey.
Take care,
David
Fabulous update David and your long hair is looking the best ever! So glad you are doing this well. Very very good for a man of your age.
I am going a bit bananas out here at sea on my "Luxery" voyage vacation. Seems the "snow ball at sea," (Much bigger than ANY Coconut I have ever seen) is a little bigger then they thought, so it may take a while to melt. Luckily Capt. Smith has let me use his Telegraph-Key Computor so that I could "lurk" and see what was going on these days at the MLHH. Uh oh....someone just said we have to do some sort of life-boat drill to see if the weight of the ship will float higher once the boats are in the icy water. Gads........what these new up-to-date people won't figure-out next to try and entertain us with. Always so thoughtful are they.
Again, the long hair is looking great!
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Thank you for your kind words, and for your friendship over the years too. I am reasoably happy to have the hair I have for a dinosaur like me!
This is the coolest ship photo yet, may she sail onwards, and avoid ye ole icebergs!
Take care,
David

Your hair is looking great, and it is much longer than I remember, David. It does look waist length to me. (Your waist is at the same height as your navel.) Keep it growing.
Scott
Hi Scott,
Thank you for your encouraging words, and I most definitely plan to keep it growing. Although not quite at the length where my hair reaches my navel (or waist length, and thank you for clarifying the definition for me), I am very close. Also, my longer neck and torso means that I need more actual hair length to achieve this than some others.
Thank you again,
David
Just lovely David!
Thanks for sharing the update.
