Will long hair always be in fashion for young men in the 2010s?
Why don't you do a survey and go and ask then!
In fashion for men of all ages for ever as far as I'm concerned.

If it is, then maybe someday someone will have to start the Men's Short Hair Hyperboard! Won't that be the day?
Well there other boards offering that now, but we won't give them the publicity lol!
If it comes completely into fashion we may not need a MLH Hyperboard anymore. Ever hear of a men's short hair forum?
Anyway, long hair has come a long way since I was a young ponytailer. Even though we think of the '70s as a time when long hair was in fashion, it really wasn't as widely accepted as today, I think.
I wouldn't really link this to fashion. Having long hair is a lifestyle choice and the kind of thing that will probably *never* fade away. People always have a choice as to what they want their hair to look like and there will always be long haired men in the world.
Is it fashionable? I make it a point not to follow fashion so I better cut it. Although you did say "on young men" so I guess I'm ok for now.
Why do you ask? Are you growing it out?
Kevin
Just curious, that's all
Hmmmmmm,well if more young men thought like me when I was younger there certainly would be no market today for the current Barber shoppe!lol.It would be a relic of the past as the only barber you'd see would be Floyd the Barber on that old sit com I used to watch:)Cheers

Dunno mate, but beards are the in thing over here in blighty, just a few years ago if you had a beard you would have been classed as a right wierdo, but now, nah trendy!!
I saw the Dillinger Escape Plan the other night and two of them had cool beards.

I've just previewed the official Fashion Police Calendar for next year, and here are what the male models look like on it, starting with January:
Jan. - "long-ish" hair; but still with a bit of that old conservative "Ivy League" look
Feb. - hair down to his ass (AMAZING!)
Mar. - buzz-cut (sorry, but that gorgeous butt-length hair has to be all cut off now, because during the month of March it will definitely NOT be "fashionable");
April - shoulder-length (don't know how in the heck you can suddenly grow your hair that long in less than a month's time; but hey, that's your problem, not mine)...
May - conservative business cut (sorry again; but you have to cut off all that beautiful hair falling on your shoulders);
June - the GQ look (since June is a month when a lot of weddings take place, it's fashionable also that you should find yourself a bride real quick, too)
July - the crewcut month...
Aug. - the shaved head month...
Sept. - mid-back length is "in" again now!
Oct. - waist-length is "in" now!!
Nov. - time to cut it back to the GQ look again (after all, with the approaching holidays and the in-laws probably coming over for dinner, you'll need to look your "best", right?);
Dec. - the Rod Stewart "spiky" look is back in, because you'll need to have your hair look just like the star at the top of your Christmas tree!
I'm very worried about 2012 fashions, though: I don't want to have to cut my hair as many times as I'll have to during 2011!!!

All I can say is LMAO
Real long hair takes longer to grow than most fashion cycles last. Hence long haired people drift in and out of style instead of the same group of people changing their hairstyle, although of course some people will try to grow their hair out to match a trend. OTOH, longish, but not really truly long hair can be obtained a bit quicker, and that is why most of the trendy guys with "long hair" don't have hair longer than their shoulders. Sadly, short hair will return sooner or later, but I will never cut mine short again, I haven't had short hair for 40 years.
I'm in the Deep South, so (even though I'm in ATL) I still see more crewcuts than even moderate longhairs (I'm seeing lots of a sort of not-truly-*long* '70s look), but if it can come back now after having so much crap aimed at it for literally decades, I don't think it's going away. (I hope not, anyway.)
