I decided to document the various ways I wear my hair and show it from a few more angles.
The first shot shows the length from the back.

A simple braid, (plait for UK readers).
I wear this quite a lot especially when my hair starts to get its wave back after a a couple of days of wear.
The half-tail is another favourite, IMHO it works best with layered hair (or hair growing out that hasn't been cut to a single length).
I wear my hair like this when I want to wear it down but its not practical to keep brushing it out of my face or behind my ears.
The 'double' half-tail is another variation on the half-tail, I wear my hair like this when I'm doing sports as it offers a bit more control than a normal half tail.
Its also somewhat Beckham-esk, football (soccer) fans will understand.
Its a great style for mid-length or awkward stage hair too.
The 'scorpion' is another variant on the half-tail/double half tail, it offers even more control than the 'double' half tail, but if I wear my hair like this its usually for the "look" and its usually because the weather is very hot.
The notched ponytails feeding into one another resemble a scorpion's tail, hence the name.
Wow
Your hair is amazing! I'm jealous. It looks so thick and soft. I wish my haie was like that. I'm starting to bald. :/
Blond on blue with braids,, AWESOME!!!!!

That is a nice plait, David. Now I can see how thick your hair is. I plait mine only rarely as it is a lot of work to get all the waves out after taking it down. My hair is knee length.

Not a style I generally wear out, but I frequently sleep with my hair tied in a high ponytail as it can be tossed over a pillow to avoid sleeping on it and tangling it up. Good hair days follow.
I like this style its simple and fun, but needs self-confidence to wear.
One thing to be said for wearing your hair tied high on your head is that makes your hair appear shorter (particularly if you hair is layered) now whilst I appreciate this might seem counter-productive to most people. There are situations (such as job interviews) where you want to come across as self-confident but in control. Here, shorter looking, controlled hair can be an advantage. This style ticks all those boxes and works excellently for all hair types.
WHY ??? are you guys so affraid of wearing your hair in a high ponytail ??? we wear ours in a low ponytail ??? Of all the groups, I thought this was one that could care less what "Others" thought !
Honestly? Because I don't really like the look, its occasionally practical, such as sleeping or if I'm really hot, but its not a personal favourite. Least not on me.
And just me again. Hair down as most people meet me.
wow green eyes-don't often see those-hope it's not the camera or flash
Yup, I have green eyes. Thanks for noticing, :D
Sorted, I just love your hair and all those cool styles you displayed.I never even knew of the double half tail and that Scorpion style until you showed them.I really, really like those as I'd like to try them on myself:)I've never braided my hair simply because I don't know how to do it by myself. Thanks for posting this very informative thread as even I learned something today:)Hope to see more of you from now on my friend.Cheers
Mark
Thanks for all the pics, it really helps to see an example of the various styles!

Great set of styles. I love the scorpion! Though it is a great thread, I am more impatient than ever to get my hair long now! I shamefully try to half-tail my hair sometimes when I am bored and all i get is a poof knot on the top of my head.
You're a lucky dog for having such nice hair, it suits you well.
Hey !
Nice hair, man ! Good shape in the ends, also.
Do you straighten it in any way ?
Vivien.
Yeah, I blow dry it straight and ocassionally use GHDs if I'm going somewhere special.
