just took this pic, as you can see my hair is coming along nicely, just the slightest of waves and is getting to "Tail gethering" length. However not all the fery forward hairs are quite there, so I place them behind my ears, at least that tis the theory, my hair, though relatively straight is thick enough to not wish to stay where placed. so until I can form up a proper tail, (sometime by the Spring, perhaps, this is me and my hair. Gettin' a lot of good comments though. It shores me up and pushes mr on to my goal, which is an ever longer mane.
Hey coming along nicely there. Very soon the uncooperative front hair will begin to fall into place. Agreed that it is annoying, several times I wanted to give it up and get a cut, but hung in there.
Looking nice! Just keep it growing and before you know it, you will have enough hair to put it all in a ponytail. At least this was the way with me, I just noticed I had enough one day.
Hey Jason
I think your hair looks great and I predict its gonna look amazing as it gets longer. Has to be said though your current look reminds me of an actor who's name I can't place, but who was a supporting actor in a lot of movies in the early 90's playing mostly Italian American cops. That's intended as a compliment btw.
The mane is growing and looking good. As it gets longer, at least for me, it still has a mind of it's own (though I now have the option of putting it in restraints). I have just learned to like the mind it has. Keep it growing!
Looking really good Jason!
There is always going to be some of those "fly-aways" that don't reach the ponytail since new hair is always growing. But the problem will be less once most of your hair reaches ponytail-able length.
Onward and Downward!

Hi Jason,
You are doing very well, your mane is growing quickly, and with your thickness, you should be able to grow a mane to be proud of in the days to come. Those natural silvers in your mane look great too!
Keep it growing,
David
All of the replies you've gotten already from the guys who responded below me are so excellent, that there's really ot much more I can add at this point -- other than I think you have a TERRIFIC head of hair to work with!
I do have one extremely shallow, unimportant criticism, though:
You tend to take your pics using the exact same background location, and have the exact same facial expression month after month... Other than your hair very gradually looking slightly different in each month's pic (due to your hair getting slowly longer), at first I wasn't sure I was noticing much different between one month's pics and the next; but maybe this was intentional on your part, in order to force us to bring out our magnifying glasses to check and make sure your mane was indeed gradually growing (LOL)....
I'll probably get a few tomatoes thrown at me for even mentioning this shallow criticism; but I'm also hoping to motivate you to at least consider maybe taking a more interesting outdoor pic of yourself in the future (maybe even one of you smiling?); but I can wait until spring or even summer, so no worries (LOL)!!

PS - I agree that long hair has a mind of its own.... which is exactly why I like long hair so much!!!
You make some good points Ken. I think Jason has a fine head of hair and look forward to watching its progress as it lengthens.
I think the standard back-of-the-head shot is the best to show growth especially for comparison to earlier periods. Of course, face shots are good too! How about one of each next time?
U.B. I take your criticism under advisement and yes, I had thought the same, but, to my defense, I take horrible posed shots. These are always in my home office and are generally spur of the moment, as in. "Well, my hair doesn't lok too bad, I'll snap a pic." Yes My intent is to show progress of the hair. and thanks for the compliments as well as the "nagging"
I will endeavor to vary the background and perhaps even change faical expression....I get the unemotional thing from my Dad's side of the family, sorry, I swear, If they had popinted ears, they could have been Vulcans.
Jason.,. I will include rear shots as well, but I do believe someone here...(ahem) once said he did not like rear shots and preferred face shots...(sigh)
Thanks ever so much, guys, it is appreciated and I love being a part of this family. Pax.
Hi Jason W.,
I just had to jump in here with that little intro.LOL.Please don't take Ken's comment personally as I know he did not intend to diminish your post.I know Ken and he is a really friendly guy.I'm sure he was only trying to encourage you to be more adventurous with your progress picture.I know that I'm not very photogenic so it takes many shots to get one that I'm willing to post. Some people are lucky and any pic taken looks great.Anyway just my thoughts and btw your hair is looking great and I hope you go the distance my friend:)Cheers
Mark
Oh, No. No issue at all with what Ken has said, Total understanding and I am thankful for the advice. Please, If I were upset, the skies would darken, the earth would quake & flying monkeys would take wing. Surely, any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Pax.
it's just an opinion lol!
At the end of the day, having long hair is about pleasing yourself. Whilst Ken raises a fair point about ubiquitous progress pictures, often the most efficient way of illustrating your progress is to take classic shots in the bathroom mirror. But above all else we are not all glamour models, we have to take pics we are comfortable with. To a certain extent that means pleasing yourself.

And it will continue to have a mind of its own until it reaches ponytail length.
Contrary to what you may have heard it will never all fit into a ponytail. For most of us, it is maybe 85% that will reach through the tie. Surprised? Don't be, hairs are always shedding and regrowing. A strand of hair growing from your front hairline has to be 13 or 14 inches long to reach through the ponytail tie. That is over 2 years of growth at 6" per year. Hairs do cling to each other, so even 80% reaching the tie is usually sufficient to keep it in a good tail.
See photo. Mine is knee length and in my situation, perhaps 85% reaches the hair tie.
