I'm thinking about getting my hair trimmed, to even things out.
Actually it's even in a way, because every hair is at the same lenght, but it looks like the back is way longer than the sides and front. I'm not sure if i like this look, but i do like the fact that it's getting kind of long...
Compare these:
And it does look fuller when it's like in the second pic. The downside is that it would feel like i'm losing several months growth. Ah well...
Yes wise old sage said "let it grow" and he was amazed with the result...eh trimmers!
Wise(?)'ole Justin saith: Let it all grow happily and look what can happen without any trims or even-ups. (Only a couple of "dustings" along the way, and done so easily by myself.)
Now, isn't this AMAZING! :-)

My hair's completely uneven because I grew it out from a shaved head (less than a cm) long
I never wear my hair down, so it just grows without me paying attention to a good 5 inches that need to be cut to even it out.
But now that's it's over a foot long, it looks good, imo
Check my vids a ew messages down :))

What's wrong with wearing your hair down....seems a bit of a shame!
Nothing at all.
I'm still growing mine and value keeping it up and protected, like Sikhs
At least until it gets to my first goal.
Well that's one way of protecting it. So what's your first goal?
To be able to pull it to tailbone.
My hair shrinks so it would probably be midback.
If all goes well, then...longer of course :)
Here's my advise, based on me having gone through the awkward stage twice in my lifetime (the first time being during the early '90s; the 2nd time being after a devastatingly short haircut in the summer of Y2K):
1) If at all possible, DON'T trim your hair -- until it reaches the general goal-length that you were originally aiming for, that is.
2) If you get to the point that you can no longer stand to look at your hair in the mirror, and are temped to "throw in the towel" (AKA cut it all off), RATHER THAN do anything severe, a modest trim would be a good idea at this point.
3) When/if indecisive, always choose option #1 over option #2 -- no reason to have to rush into any trim decision, as it's always more joyous to wake up in the morning with more hair, rather than less (LOL)....
... But better to trim a little bit off in order to save your sanity than to force yourself to endure looking at your hair every day if you're no longer enjoying it; but just realize that every time you trim, you set yourself back a few months in reaching your goal-length.
ALSO: When/if you do decide to go into a hair salon for a professional trim, choose a very reputable salon, preferably with a very experienced hair-stylist who has a longhair following (this is usually long-haired women that know where is best to go) -- but also prepare yourself for these kind of places charging more $$ (but, THEY ARE WORTH IT)!!!
Hope my comments have helped!

Lon hair and scissors don't mix!
It looks OK and should you still have some concerns in six months then maybe half an inch. Trimming now will just ruin your efforts.
Hi Abstrakt,
Well it seems like all the others covered the bases so I'll just throw in my vote to just leave your hair alone and let nature take it course my friend:)Your hair is growing so don't mess with success.Cheers
Mark
Looks great to me, Abstrakt!
If you have any doubts, just let it keep growing.

It would help me if I couldn't make a decision about this to just put it off. To make myself wait as many months as I could. I think I would have it trimmed a little when it got past shoulder length. It eventually evened up, and got longer too. I'd try not to think about the unevenness. When it all got into a ponytail, it was easier to ignore, and I'd tell myself, it would just get better with time, that all I really had to do was wait, and try not to think about it too much. When I got too concerned, I'd just tell myself, 'not right now'. Later. Later. It worked.
Hey man,
You know I had this exact same issue (as I'm sure countless others have) where you grow it from a very short length and when it grows out it looks shorter at the front. Well I braved that look for over two years, and by that time it had grown quite long and so trimming it was easier (since it wouldn't seem like losing so much length).
Your hair does look quite uneven, as mine did, so I'd suggest just waiting until the bangs are at least well below the chin to even the hair off. Otherwise the total loss of length would seem overly detrimental.. And of course how fast your hair grows will affect your decision.
Good luck with whatever you do! (as long as you keep growing it)
