So I am new here and really appreciate everyone's posts and comments. But onto my question, I have been growing my hair for about a 1.5 yrs and my all my hair(almost) can be put up into a pony. My problem is that I have the shorter hairs on my neck that just don't seem to be keeping up, and growing at all for that matter. What to do?
This hair does not grow to any length. Opinions will be divided but if you wear a tail regularly it does look much much better shaved. Take care not to go above the hair line but shave say once a month.
Your photograph shows the hair at its worst and looks bad I am sorry to say.
I disagree! I think the picture you provided is kind of like a samurai with a beard! I think it's a good look!
Can we see yours?!
As previously said, opinions will be divided, you should decide for yourself...
I think it looks normal. I have the same thing and always wear my hair up as well. I personally don't like the shaven/trimmed look on that area, it reminds me of undercuts.
You should do what you want though. Just my opinion ;)

Yes, everyone will have an opinion on this but I too feel just let the buggers grow.I'll admit years ago when I used to get infrequent trims I had those hairs shaved but no more.I just let nature take it course:)Cheers

Further agreement. I plan to and have done so on the recnt occasions where I did have it pulled back into a "proto'-tail" wear my tail low, as I did long ago (in the 1970s) and the errant neck hairs were not an issue.
I get my girlfriend to shave those hairs for me. It's hard to see what you're doing, so it's best to have someone else do it. I think it looks neater and also helps prevent as much tangling in the back of your hair. You just have to be careful to only trim the really short curlier hairs. You don't want to end up with an undercut.
Hey!! whats wrong with an undercut?! i have an undercut and i LOVE it!! :P
So do I. That makes at least two of us!
Well just let them grow or it's just another trimming maintenance task we could do without of. Still trimmers of you want to do it, it's not my lookout lol!
Cheers,

Yours looks fine. I have fine, light hair and, if I put my hair up, the back looks like Darth Vader without his helmet.
Hi MrMileHi,
My neck hairs look about the same as yours, only maybe not quite as curly.
The only time I ever had those neck hairs professionally shaved off, I didn't like the look afterwards. That was in early June of Y2K. On June 21st of that same year, I impulsively cut my waist-legth hair real short -- which should go without saying that I ended up deeply regretting...
And I've never worried about cutting off those neck hairs ever since! End of story. (LOL)
