My hair is still in my estimation nearing the final stages of "awkwardness' As more hairs achieve a length that can be gathered into a tail, the thicker such tail will be. Still have a few months before, in my estimation. a purposeful tail will exist. However I have a question. I am weaning myself from daily shampooing. Same as I did in the 70s and 80s when my hair was last very long. I have been using a boars hair brush and it does seem to be beneficial to my hair. I have gone to only shampooing lightly every other day and may increase the time between shampoos. My hair seems to lay better (the wild bed head look does not always look good) if I at least wet it down in my morning showers. Perhaps it is because of the low humidity in the Arizona climate. I finger comb it when wet, let it air dry then brush it. Is this a healthy procedure?
Sounds good Jason!
Your finger-combing routine should be just fine as long your not pulling or tearing any hair in the process.
My hair wash frequency lately has about one or two times weekly.
For the low humidity, a little Jojoba oil (a few small drops finger-combed in) after washing is helpful.

that when you do finger comb be sure your hands are moisturized as well.In the winter months by me the skin on my hands can get very dry to the point of feeling scaly. When your skin gets like this and you run it through your hair the scales can pull and break hairs in the process. So be sure to use moisturizer on your hands before using them to comb through your mane.Maybe your hands don't get dry like that in Arizona but in cold climates it happens to me.
