Hello everyone at mlhh! Hope you all are having a fine time this holiday season.
I remembered that this is close to my two year mark of growing my hair out so why not celebrate with an update?

Wow.........you are so fortunate to have the hair-type that you do. Keep it growing. Looks fantastic! Thank you for sharing these great long hair photos with all of us.
I truly thank you, Justin, as you have been one of my main inspirations for growing my hair to begin with. You are one of the nicest people I've ever met and have done so much to encourage others like me to be proud being themselves.

Thanks, Jonalbear!
I still am amazed at how great your hair is and how much younger it makes you look. I can only hope mine will follow suit!
-Dan H.
Hi Dan,
What a fantastic head of hair you have to work with, very full & shiny and healthy-looking, TERRIFIC!!!
All I can say is: keep up the good work (as if hair-farming is really "work" - LOL)!!
- Ken
Thank you, Ken, for your reply.
Your posts on mlhh are easily among the most enjoyable to me. You have a great sense of humor and wisdom, to boot! You've helped me out many times with your posts, so I wanted to show my appreciation.
-Dan H.
Congratulations on your growth!
Your hair looks so healthy. What is your hair care regiment?
Hi Allen, and thank you!
I wash and condition daily with natural, mild products (I've used a few, with Burt's Bees being the current choice). My hair is very oily so it does not dry out from washing every day. In fact, the shampoo and conditioner I use likely help the hair as they have lots of natural oils added to them.
I air dry my hair 99% of the time except when I'm going out in extremely cold weather or have to have it dry in a hurry. Then I use a hair dryer but I try to keep that evil thing as far away as possible! Other than daily combing/brushing I never put anything else in my hair.
-Dan H.
You have some really great looking hair, keep it growing.
I appreciate the compliment! The growing will continue, haha.
-Dan H.
Wow, you have a great head of shiny hair!
Thanks for the compliment, Kif!
I certainly do have naturally oily hair. When it was short it would look greasy after even one day without washing. It's much better now.
-Dan H.
I thankfully never had that problem, in fact i find that if I wash any more then about once a week, my hair feels very dry and does not co-operate as nicely.
prime example was last night at work. i washed yesterday and let it dry before bed, and my pony tail kept bunching up and annoying me last night!
Keep it growing!
-Kif
Nice work keep it up!
Thank you, Matt!
Lovely update Dan!
Congrats on almost two years - looks like your hair is very well cared for.
Onward and Downward into 2011!
- Oren
I appreciate your kind response, Oren. I will certainly keep growing it for many years to come!
-Dan H.
Hi Dan and Happy Holidays to you my friend.Your hair is simply AWESOME after just two short years of happily growing long:)I really like the color and how shiny it appears in the photo.Longhair really looks great on you and hopefully other people in real life tell you that too.You know support from us is a given.Maybe you mentioned it before but what's your ultimate goal.Have a fun but safe New Years Dan:)Cheers
Mark
Thanks for your kind words, Mark.
At this point, people are mostly on board with the idea that I'm keeping my hair long, so I only hear occasional nags from my mother (oh, mothers!) When I get compliments in real life it certainly makes my day. People do give up on commenting eventually so stick it out, new growers!
Nature was pretty good about getting the rest of my body working, so I'll let it decide my hair length, too. Can't go wrong with that!
-Dan H.
Hi Dan,
Thank you for sharing such an outstanding update with us. Your hair is shiny and in excellent condition, and straight hair like yours is the easiest type to grow super long. Good luck to you in 2011, and all the best in your future hair growing journey as well.
Keep it growing,
David
Hello David, and thank you!
I do plan on growing it super long, so I am fortunate for sure.
Have a good new year,
-Dan H.

Scott
Hello Scott,
I appreciate the compliment. I will say that your hair is way more fantastic!
-Dan H.
Beautiful hair!!
What is your goal for length?
--tom
Thank you, Tom, for you kind words.
My goal length is as long as nature allows.
-Dan H.
Dan, your hair looks fantastic!!! It is very healthy, shiny, and smooth looking. Just to let you know, not all mothers are against long hair on their sons. My son is 17 and has been growing his hair for 2 years, and it looks great! Just keep being yourself, Dan, and keep on growing! :)
Thank you, Laura, I appreciate your response and of course the compliment!
I'm very glad that you are supportive of your son's wishes to do something so harmless as grow his hair long. I followed my parents' rules and never caused issues (I'm quiet, calm, and laid back for the most part) but when it came to growing my hair out there were shouting matches galore! Even a little past my ears and my dad would come down on me with punishments galore until I got it cut. Their close-minded view on this felt wrong to me and that's why I fought so much. But I kept to their wishes and waited until they were not monetarily supporting me in order to do what I wanted.
I love my mom and dad very much, but this resentment over arguing about something so harmless as hair length will always stir up bad memories. Your son will certainly appreciate you for not getting him caught in endless drama like in my teenage years!
-Dan H.
Hey Dan H.,
Awesome! What an inspiration to me.
Please keep the update pics coming. I'm looking forward to seeing your next update.
Raymond
Thanks for the reply, Raymond!
I appreciate your compliment and am glad to be an inspiration to others. I will certainly keep growing and updating in the future.
