Hi to you all. I hope you can help me with my hair problem.
My hair is pretty long now -it's to the bottom of my ribs and thick. I think that it seems to be fairly healthy and I do not get too many split ends. However my hair always feels dry and knots easily when it's loose or when it's in a ponytail. I wash my hair about once a week and I think that I am generous with the conditioner.
Any ideas as to how I can resolve these issues? Thanks.

Try some Spray-in-Conditioner and this should help alot. Best of luck to you. :-)

Depends on your hair texture... is it curly or straight? If its naturally wavy or frizzy and you wear it in a ponytail, it can get tangled from getting rolled back and forth across your back in your day to day activities (especially if you wear textured fabrics like flannel or wool) A lightweight silicone based serum would probably solve the problem if you comb it into your hair after you wash it, and again as needed throughout the week. Try Moroccanoil Light.
I find keeping my hair (it is waist length) in a multi-segment ponytail very helpful.
A few drops of Jojoba oil finger-combed in as my hair is drying after a wash/condition (about once or twice a week for me) is helpful, too. The oil also protects somewhat against dryness.
Congrats on the rib-length hair!

Beneficial oils are so helpful, that nowadays I've been finding that even if I go without just one weekly oil application on my hair ends (like right after my weekly shampoo day), I miss it when i don't do it.
Nowadays my favorite beneficial oil happens to be good ol' fashioned olive oil; but I also like Kukui nut oil, Jojoba, and also almond oil -- they all work GREAT!!
