Hello all. I was just curious about what experiences (good and bad) with police ya'll have had at a time when your hair was long. I've had some good; at other times been stopped (I presume) for having long hair.
Anyway, here's a good one I'll relate:
A longhaired friend and I left a bar after about 6 or 7 beers each. I tended to be somewhat of a speed demon in my turbo sports car at this point in my life. I passed a car (over a double-yellow line) doing about 80 mph. The speed limit was 35. I saw the sheriff and unfortunately -- he saw me. Of course; I immediately slowed down but knew I was getting pulled over.
He approached the car and asked "do you know why I stopped you?". At this point I figured I was getting a ticket (or worse). I said "no". He actually laughed then said "you mean you have no idea why I pulled you over?". I said "well, I have some idea".
After the routine license and registration check. He asked about drugs and if he could search the car. We both said "yes -- no problem". He didn't even bother. He handed my license back and said "slow it down!". He let me go -- no ticket -- nothing. I guess he was in a good mood that night. What luck for me!
