I was happy to see a 'breakthrough' yesterday on the BBC News Channel: A new correspondent (reporter) doing a piece to camera with his hair in a decent tail. I was not taking much notice when he started, but his name was Nick ?Jones? and when he turned to point something out he had a good thick tail - possibly a couple of dreads in it but tied neatly back. From the front I was not alerted. sadly I could not see whether the piece was re-run an hour later and by the evening it had gone.
The BBC is often thought conservative in such things but very obviously not and I would certainly rank this as a critical break through in a major UK institution. Clearly a pointer to many organisations that long hair can look good and does not detract from what he had to say.
Yes, I noticed him too - I think he had dreads in a half ponytail, as some of the dreads were visible from the front.
I wonder if we will see him again or whether he was enrolled for that specific story.
Don't forget the beeb has a longhair presenting an entire primetime (on sundays) programme , Neil Oliver the presenter of Coast !
I've not seen this guy in the news channel yet but will keep and eye out for him. Neil Oliver is a great example and does have a great way of bringing and describing history for the TV audience.
Cheers,

He does but that is a specialist programme: The 'break through' I feel is BBC News which some would expect to be more staid.
That's awesome! I wish there was a pic available of this man.
Mr. Oliver has nice hair as seen on Google Images.
