He does a video of the hair care products he uses - like coconut oil. He's oiling his hair in this one. Seems like a good guy.
Hi John C,
I've seen videos from this guy before and I do admit his hair is gorgeous:)It's amazing how many longhair you tube vids are out there as I'm not complaining. He certainly has interesting tats too!

Yes..........he is a very wonderful young man who lives in germany. Luke is his name. I know him well through many emails exchanged. (Certain of we You Tube makers become quite good friends who share similar interests.)
This link of Lukes "slide show" is of the most fantastic long curly hair ever and should serve as the greatest inspiration for ALL guys with curly hair who "claim" that their hair is no good. Any and all "Curly Long Hair questions I now receive go to Luke who answers and knows far better then I would.

The oils he is using does it replace the natural oils your scalp produces? I want to try what he's doing.
Do it then! Have fun! Don't worry too much about wether or not it duplicates your natural oils. It doesn't matter that much. I think that's being a little overly serious. Excuse me. Best thing is to expose your hair to warm water long enough for it to absorb as much as it can. Water is it's best moisturizer. Then oiling it almost immediately afterward, before it dries up, to seal the moisture in. The same method is best for your skin, when and where it needs it. Any oil works for that. It will keep the ends from splitting for longer too. I think lanolin is closest to our natural oil. Vitamin E oil capsules can be opened and used. Coconut oil is said to be very good. There's many others. I use cooking grade Linseed oil. I love how it smells. I built a small keyboard instrument when I was 17, a copy of a late medieval instrument from a kit, and Linseed oil was reccommended for it. It reminds me of that instrument. Linseed oil has been used on wood since the Egyptian times. It still is. It's still considered the best for that. It's also extremely healthy to eat and use on your skin. I can only smell coconuts or olive oil for so long! I've used olive oil, put it all over myself one summer day when I felt very dry, and coconut oil is next in line...When I find it!
I've been using coconut oil for several months after hearing it mentioned in one of his videos. Surprisingly coconut oil has no smell or taste. It's a lightweight oil that solidifies at around 75F. I use it as part of a mix of equal parts coconut oil, almond oil and walnut oil. A little bit of rubbing alcohol mixed in keeps the coconut oil from separating out. I generally apply a dime sized amount to my hair after conditioning but while still in the shower to allow the warm water to better distribute the oil. So far I think it works reasonably well without any odor.
