I have a question about a particular hair style that I will be aiming for. I saw a picture of a style where the length of his hair was right at his shoulders. Very full head of hair, all (or most of it) was down to there. Anyways, it got me thinking... what was the length of the hairs on the back of his head right at the bottom of his hair line??? I mean, if all of his hair layed down to the top of his shoulders (or the bottom of his neck, not sure what's easiest to visualize), but the hair on the back of his head at the bottom of his hair line would technically be only a couple inches long.
So I guess my question is, with a hair style like that (all hair comes to top of shoulders / bottom of neck), what is typically the length of the bottom hairs on the back of the head at the hair line?? I also saw a picture of this hair style in a pony tail, and all the hairs were in the tail. I guess I'm just having a hard time understanding those bottom hairs...if they are too long then they will go below the shoulders and the rest of the hair. But if they are too short, they wouldn't fit in the pony tail.
Any ideas??? If it will help, I'll try to find a visual example of what I'm talking about. Thanks!
I have never had an "all one length" style, so I can only hazard a guess here. I would imagine that the hairs further away from the hair tie (side of the head, close to the shoulders) would, when gathered up together near the tie, encompass the shorter hairs and hold them in place. The hairs themselves may not all reach the tie, but they would have longer hairs on top of them thus holding them down and out of sight.
I hope this makes sense.

Hmmm, I think I see what you're saying. I found a picture of what I'm talking about. I hate to do the want-my-hair-like-this-celebrity thing, but Johnny Depp in this picture is a good example of what I'm thinking. The hair is at his shoulders, and he can tie it up in a pony tail. It just makes me wonder the length of those bottom hairs.
Does that make sense??
Hi there,
I think I have the answer to your question. Jenny Dept has wavy hair, because of this, the hairs behind his head near his neck, are curly. Most people have kinkyer hair in that area, just ask someone with curly hair, they'll know what you're talking about. This gives the illusion that they are even with the hairs in front when in fact they are the same length. If you were to pull on one of those hairs it would stretch out, this is why it can be pulled back in a ponytail and probably looks even in the ponytail.
Hope this helps
