My hair is long enough that it always parts down the middle. Ive tried parting it a little to the left or right of middle but it just doesnt look good yet. The hair that switches direcetions just isn't long enough to do that yet.
Anyways for the last few weeks now there's been a very noticable virtical part in my hair. It litterally goes strait up & down the side of my head, from just infront of one of my sideburns, to where my hair parts normally.
I don't know what I did to cause it. I dont know for sure how long its been there. And no matter what I do I can't move it or get rid of it.
This second part is seriously the only noticable issue I have left with my hair. Everything else has either solved itself or Ive leared to live with for the time being.
If there's anybody on here who's experienced this 2nd part or might at least knows someone who has, I could really use some help here.
Around the time that I first noticed the virtical part. The hair now infront of it (which is naturally curly/wavy) became percely strait for a few days. It would curl up away from my head, then it would drop strait down without so much as even a hint of a wave.
I don't know what caused that either. Maybe it was my hair doing that that caused the virtical part. I just don't know.
you have what is called a cowlick. google it
Are you sure?
Ive been told its a cowlook. Is that true?
Is it possible to get rid of it without getting rid of the hair itself?
I only ask because it wasn't there for the 20 or so years Ive been alive, then practically overnight, there it was. And trying to hide it is really anoying.
I realize that evenutally I'll be able to hide it behind hair in a ponyail. Its just that the hair infront of it is till several inches from where I start my ponytail. That & there are probibly going to be days that I just wont want to pute my hair in a ponytail.
Sorry if this sounds like complaining, its just really bothering me.
it looks like your getting some thinning and that may be the cause, sorry
That is a possibilaty. And if that's the case, there's nothing to be sorry about. That's life, I'll learn to live with it.
But now that I think about it, its also possible that the entire mess (what looks like a 2d part & the thin looking section) was the result of a mangled clean-up trim I attempted a while ago.
i just went through all that from totally buzz cut to just below the shoulders in 21 months, try using the coconut oil deal. you can read about on the net and there are u tube videos about how to thicken up your hair. if you want i can describe it in detail, look at longhairluke on u tube this will give an idea of what im talking about. take care dude
I've had my hair part just like that for the last fifty years in the same place as yours on my head (but over the other eye), and no harm has ever come of it. It's just one more way our manes do not all look alike.

I love that photo of you wearing the Pink Floyd shirt with the images on the shirt matching the real rocks behind you. Great composition!
Yeah, that worked out well! The wind was even blowing from the side so you could see it was a Pink Floyd shirt. The park rangers there said the guy "diving" into the lake was actually doing handstands with his head underwater because the lake is very shallow there. They said he was at it for hours to get the photo just right, so he must have been exhausted. The lake, by the way, is Mono Lake, near the town of Lee Vining, just east of Yosemite. The tufa (that is what those formations are called) are located on the south side of the lake.

Hi Bill, Wow - that is an amazing photo of yourself with the t-shirt blending in perfectly with the background. I love Pink Floyd too, and that is an amazingly photogenic picture. The natural mother nature architect will always outdo mankind's creations in scenic beauty.

For it to just appear all of a sudden is quite strange but that's hair I suppose ;).
Besides combing the majority of your hair to one side or putting it all back with gel or wax I don't know that there is much else you could do. It doesn't look all that bad.
