Hi everyone,
Thanks for your feedback on my last post, in reference to my hair sticking out to one side at the ends; was very helpful.
But I was also wondering what length is the minimum to get a way with a ponytail. I"m only on the verge of the 8 month mark at the moment myself.
Glad you appreciated the help.
I first started wearing a ponytail at about the 1 year mark, but the front hairs did not all reach, so I had two "flaps" that just laid over my ears. I could only make a full ponytail with all the hairs reaching the tie at around 1.5 years. My growth rate is slightly above average (I get probably 7 inches a year instead of 6).
If you have the average 1/2 inch per month growth, you should expect to be able to tie a full ponytail in 7-8 more months. So you're halfway there!
Best of luck,
-Dan H.
Hi, probably about 2 years total growth to fit it all in (bangs and all). Give or take.
My friend it will be long enough when it is long enough, I'm afraid! Mine is almost at the full ponytail stage except for the very front hair. I've been growing for 18 months. (only the back trimmed to even up while the front catches it-a personal preference not a recommendation). Working in a professional environment (whatever that means..) had meant 18 months of annoying gels and other hair products. But stick to it it will be worth it!
Good luck in your growing,
MattT
