For those who were following Michael's story about being bullied at work, you might be interested in his update (but miss it because it's down the page a bit).
He writes:
"We are a non Union facility. I do however have good news.
I'm walking into work tonight, course he does his usual throw a water bottle at me. I had my guard up, the water bottle misses me, ends up breaking a main control panel for one of the machines. My supervisor witnessed these actions but the employee throwing the water bottle didn't see my boss watching ;)
Supervisor, plant manager and I had a discussion about the ongoing harrasment this guy is giving me.
Course for breaking company property and on assault charges, he was fired on the spot no questions asked. Needless to say, I'm not the only one glad to see that clown go."
I'm glad to hear this has worked out alright for you, Michael. Unfortunately, this guy sounds like the type who will never really "get it." He will probably spend the rest of his life feeling like he was the victim, and grumbling about the long-haired hippie that "made him lose his job." At any rate, score one for justice! Hope things go more smoothly for you from here on out.

Hi Val,
Thanks for posting that update from Michael.Too bad it took so long for this guy to get canned and it ended up breaking some equipment to do it.Thinking what this guy must be like its a good thing he was fired now instead of later.A guy like that wouldn't surprise me at all if he went "Postal" one day.Obviously that would be far worse than a tossed water bottle.Maybe now Michael and his coworkers can enjoy their workdays better:)

The scary problem with a person like this is that he may retaliate, either against his former employer, or worse, his victim. I see a ticking time bomb here. From what I read in the earlier posts, he possibly could be a delusional sociopath. I have seen situations like this before, guys like that just won't let it go and a serious feud develops. My advice here would be to keep that guy that was fired under surveillance.

I agree, be very careful and keep your wits about you - he knows where you all work and possibly 'play' too
Have not been following Michael's story so I have no idea of what age category he falls in. I would guess he is a younger individual. This kind of negative reaction (from what I have seen) rarely happens to older Longhairs [This may be due, at least in part, to the fact that many older males hardly have any hair to speak of. In fact, I frequently see expressions of awe...he..he]
Anyone who appears to differ from the "norm" tends to become a target. This may never change no matter how many rules they make. Michael will have to make the BIG Decision: is it all worth it to him? I have seen many guys cave in and give up rather than put up with this nonsense. It is really too bad. Oh well.
Hey Val,
Thanks for bringing this up to speed :) Through some more talk around the shop, I guess this guy had a criminal record of some pretty violent acts. I'll just leave it at that.
HEY WHO YOU CALLIN A HIPPIE!?!?! j/k :)
Hi Michael (and also Val!),
Sorry for being a bit behind in my response on the board here; but am certainly grateful to hear that this bully has been eradicated from your workplace. After hearing about his past criminal record, it sort of all makes sense to me now.
Nobody should ever just put up with that kind of violent behavior -- regardless of wherever it happens, at home or on the job, or ANYwhere.
Glad to hear that your ordeal is over!!!

Thanks for updating us all, Val. Where one works is no place for the kind of experience he had to go through. I agree with the others, so Michael: keep your wits about you whenever you enter/leave your work, and just be extra careful about your surroundings. I'm glad you will finally have some peace at work, but be careful in case this lunatic has any plans.
Ain't karma a bitch?? LOL. It's great to hear that life turned around and bit this bonehead on the keister!!!
