Hey everybody,
I just thought I'd give you all a little update of how my hair looks after 8 months of no haircuts. It still kinda sticks out at the ends a little bit but I am seeing a bit of a decrease in that.
Only another 4 months till I hit the big 1 year mark. Yay!

Hey there,
looking good so far! It was not all that long ago when I was going through the same stage as you are.
Do you have any current length goal in mind, or just as long as you can get it?
Take care,
-Kif
Thanks Kif, appreciate the support my friend :)
My goal would be a few inches past my shoulders. So I can have a decent ponytail, I've always liked that look of that particular way of wearing long hair. I suppose you could say I get hair envy of guys that have them hehe

BP,
I never wanted anything past shoulder length the first time I grew my hair. Once I got there I just kinda let it grow and then liked it.
Now that I am getting past the shoulders again, I hope never to have hair shorter than this again!
Hope you are successful in your goal though :)

Looks great so far and you are doing the right thing by avoiding the haircuts:)There is nothing more counter productive than cutting your hair when you want it long my friend;)I'm sure at one year you will be very pleased with your hair.Maybe you'll even want it longer??Hmmmmmmmmmm.Cheers
Mark
Thank you mark, appreciate the support and I agree.
I've read up on hair advice online, even watched some YouTube videos on it and you wouldn't believe the amount of stylists that said to "trim every 4 weeks". Until I saw a video with a male stylist who said "the only way to let it grow, is to just let it grow"
The funny thing is he admitted he's not really supposed to say that as a stylist
as the main reason they tell you to trim regurly while growing is to just get
money out of you and keep the buisness going. It's unfortunate that so many have to lie to make money out of us, but at least
some stylists are honest about it.
Funny thing is though when I got a trim before I started growing 8 months ago, I made sure I got a male stylist to do it. When I told him I wanted it trimmed so it'll grow out evenly as I plan to let it grow passed my shoulder. All he said was that should look really nice on me, no requests for monthly trims lol. Not meaning to sound sexist, but I've found male stylists to be that more honest than female ones. I think I've just had a few bad experiences with female stylists, on top of one telling me that it's good for your hair to use a hairstraightner lol
In any case I won't be trimming until I have a little longer than I want.
And there is always the chance I may let it grow to terminal, but for now once it's a little past my shoulder and possible for a ponytail, I'll be happy.

Hey BP,
I'm very impressed as you hit the nail on the head about these stylists. If you are constantly trimming your hair, how on earth is it supposed to get long?By doing that it would take you a lifetime just to get midback hair and that's only if you trimmed off less say in one month that actually grew out.I tend to agree with you about using male stylists too if you are inclined to do a trim.To me it seems some women hate it when guys grow their hair long.Maybe it's jealousy?Hmmmmmmmmm.Anyway good for you on educating yourself about growing your longhair:)That's half the battle.Cheers my friend.

Awesome mane, dude!
As your hair grows it will gain volumn and weight and the curling action should stop. The long hair really becomes you.
Don't trim it. Do't let anyone with a pair of scissors or a razor near your hair.
Keep it growing. Let it go terminal.
Raymond
Hey thanks man,
I'll leave it alone for at least 2 more years then see if I want it to be more shoulder length or maybe mid back.
Thanks for the support :)
Keep it up, I remember the days my hair was your lenght. When you look back it doesn't seem so bad as it is now :)
Too true, I can even notice an improvement with how it looked on previous months
Congratulations on the progress! You've come quite a way from your shaved length ;).
Keep it going!
Thanks! Although I should mention the buzz cut pic was taken a year before my decision to grow it long again.
Progress is progress!
