Hi all. I was just wondering how often do you use conditioner?
Are you supposed to use it everyday or just after you shampoo?
Thank you kindly.
Hi Allan,
When my hair used to be short ("average-guy" length), I never bothered with using conditioners. As my hair gradually got to around shoulder-length, I discovered how helpful it was in getting out tangles, especially after it had just been freshly shampooed. Once it got past the shoulder blades and into the mid-lower back range, conditioning my hair became more and more important...
Nowadays, I go through more conditioner than I do shampoo -- it's become that indispensable to me! Sometimes I even just do conditioner-only washing of my hair, skipping the shampoo altogether.
It's really simply an individual decision, as well as a gradual thing, depending on one's hair length and hair type -- as well as personal hair product likes / dislikes.
Just experiment with it, and see what works best for you!
... Hope that answer helps!!

How long is your hair and ill tell you? James
I use conditioner every time I rinse my hair, the longer it gets the more prone it is to tangling if I don't condition it. Lately I've gone to shampooing only once a week while continuing to condition every day. Perhaps in the summer when I sweat more I might want to shampoo more frequently, but under the current winter conditions a weekly shampoo is sufficient.
One thing you didn't ask about but I should mention is that conditioner formulations vary a lot. About all you can do is try different ones until you find something that works well for you. My current favorite is a generic brand that has aloe extract (along with a lot of other herbs) in it.

Hey Dale,
Thanks for the info. about how you use shampoo and conditioner. When you use conditioner do you rinse it out of your hair or do you leave it in and comb your wet hair with the conditioner left in the hair?
Thanks alot, bro!
Raymond
I typically use the rinse out type of conditioner. I've tried the leave in type but didn't find the results to be beneficial. Instead I prefer to use the coconut oil treatment described further down the list.

I use it every time that I wash my hair. If I didn't, I'd have one big dreadlock filled with broken comb teeth.
I use it every time I shower. As many other have said, with longer hair, you really need to use conditioner to get the tangles out.
