We have had a fantastic amount of snow this winter here in Massachusetts - over 70 inches so far. It's made for some fabulous cross-country skiing which is one of my favorite sports. I thought I'd share a few photos from our adventure today.
My wife is still learning and today's conditions were a bit challenging for her.
I also thought I'd provide a few more photos of my newly dyed hair. The ones I took previously were mostly with flash. These are in various shades of natural light. I think the color has settled in a bit more. I like it and my hair continues to feel like it's in better health.
Harsh mid-day light...
Just before sunset...
It's my goal over the next year to reach a new length record. I plan to work on being more gentle with my hair in hopes of achieving that.
A beautiful update Jason!
The sunset really sets off the plum color in your hair. The beard looks great, too.
We've had quite a winter-wonderland this past week down here in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, too.
Hair lengthwise, my things proceed "Onward and Downward"!

Thanks Oren! I heard about the snow Texas got. It's been a pretty wild winter for much of the country. I'm looking forward to your next update. I'm jealous of your natural red color!

Your mane looks fantastic in this image, Jason. The late day orange light really brings out the color. You should be good for at least a few more inches of length. Multiple hair ties helped me achieve my extreme length. You may want to give them a try.
Scott
Thanks Scott! My interest and determination to grow to new lengths has been raised with me doing this dyeing. I'm hoping with proper care I can eventually get back to my pre-2008 shed thickness and maybe with that, I'll get to a new length as well. Thanks for the suggestion about the multiple ties.
Looks like a gorgeous day there Jason and look at all that snow!YIKES!I think you even had more than here in NJ.Today warmed into the mid 40s and got some melting going.Yesterday was just rain.
Great pics Jason as it looks like a fun day:)I'm sure you both had fun especially with the nice sunny day.Your hair with the coloring looks very cool in natural light.I hope you can get more length too as I'd like the same.I'm always up for more hair as I can never get enough of it all:)Thanks for the nice post Jason and taking the time to post your pics.Cheers my friend.
Mark
Hi Mark,
We had a couple days' reprieve from the cold but it looks like we're back into it now. No snow though!
Thanks for your comment! It was a fun day and I'm happy to be more enthused about my hair lately.
Best,
Jason
Your hair looks really nice. The color looks quite natural too, so it fits you well. Hopefully you'll be able to get to a new length with your more gentle approach.
Thanks Garth! I'm looking forward to what the next year will bring hairwise.
..the snow, that is.
Your hair, on the other hand is very nice indeed.
Thanks for the pics.
Well, it's sure a mess for driving and for roofs. I find winter is more enjoyable if I can get out and enjoy some sports.
Thanks about my hair. I'm looking forward to seeing an update on your magnificent mane!
That looks like a lot of fun and a total challenge! I've snowboarded three years in a row but only during the winter season.
Your hair looks awesome in all shades of light, especially with those waves you have sort of in the middle!
Hey Allen, thanks!
Snowboarding is my favorite sport. There in nothing like linking those "S" turns going down a mountain!
Wow looks bueatiful with all the snow over there. I love outdoor activities but never did cross country skiing.
Your hair looks great too, succes with archieving your new lenght goal.
Thanks Vincent!
There's nothing more depressing than being stuck inside. It's great to get out and enjoy the season!
Hi Jason,
What an outstanding set of photos, and I am glad that you are enjoying all that snow! That snowfall of 70 inches must be a record for your area. We have certainly had our share (not as much as you though, but one storm did give us a foot last Wednesday.) We had a rainstorm overnight Saturday into Sunday, though, which melted some of it, but there are still big snowbanks everywhere.
Your hair is doing very well indeed(it also looks somewhat wavier/curlier), the colour looks great, and I think you will achieve your dreams, with your hair work and dedication. Good luck to you!
Take care,
David
Hi David,
I think Boston's record for yearly snowfall is 102 inches which we had back in the winter of 1995/1996. It looks like we may be in a different weather pattern now but it's possible we could still beat that record. I remember some very snowy Marches before.
It does seem like this dye has produced a bit more waviness to my hair. Its condition for whatever reason, definitely feels better. Thanks!
Best,
Jason
Wow looking really great Jason. I hope you reach your goals, I'd still like to try and grow mine down to waist length, but I'm a bit too brutal with it I think.
Thanks Sorted! I know what you mean. I'm very active physically and it definitely takes its toll on my hair, especially the ends. I'm trying to consciously treat it more gently but it's not always easy to do.
