Had long hair for years and was forced to have it cut to get a job. Now I'm retired, I've decided to try and grow it again. Any suggestion or tips welcome.
Hi IanB,
Your hair looks great and my advice would be to just let it grow out, skip the thought of doing trims, and make sure you keep it moisturized so as to avoid it being too dry and feeling like straw. Everyones hair reacts different to hair care products so you may have to do some experimentation to see what works best for you.I still do that even today as I've had longhair for many years and I find rotating hair products occasionally is essential.
It's a shame you had to wait until retirement to grow out your hair but thankfully, from what I can see, it looks like you still have a full head of hair.Good luck with your journey.Cheers
Mark
Thanks Mark, you set a great eample - I'm grateful for the encouragement.
Assuming that this is a current photograph not one prior to cutting it is looking good - you have also fortunately kept much of the natural colour - not a deal of grey.
Just grew until you reach a length with which you are comfortable.
Cheers, shot taken yesterday, thanks for your response
Welcome to the "Golden Years". Your hair is looking great already. Just let it grow. No trims. Tommie
Thanks Tommie
Hi IanB,
First of all, congratulations on your retirement, and having only retired myself a couple of years ago, I know that the feeling of "freedom 55" is awesome! I will be 58 years old in August, and have no plans to cut mine.
You have a great head of hair to work with, and have excellent thickness as well. Allthough I cannot offer a lot of advice other than just saying to "let it grow", I wish you the best of luck in your hair growing journey.
Keep it growing,
David
Many thanks David, nice to find such support - and good luck with your retirement too
Sorry to hear about your previous situation. I'd say just don't abuse it with harsh shampoos/conditioners or any other hair "care" product.
You're already off to a nice start!
