Why don't people know that tons of men before 1800 had very long hair???? Here is my video I JUST made to exemplifly that men did indeed have long thick hair past their sholders before the advent of Pantene or whatever! ;-D Enjoy!
I couldnt get that link to work, what i the account name for your u tube page ? James

I knew it and well before the 1800's. (Beginning of Mankind.)Without the conditioners however, the extreme lengths were most likely very rare because terminal would have been reached earlier. (Extreme meaning butt length and longer.)
Thank you for the video.

I think alot of it had to do with the style of the times as well. They weren't always determined to try to let it grow to their butt. But the long braids of the Bronze Age ..... who knows their length. keeping it at mid back or shoulder length might not have mattered to them.
You're welcome! Who can say. They would use oils. I heard the ancient Vikings & German men took very good of their long hair. Perhaps theirs got pretty long. They'd braid it to protect it. I haven't found anything to say how long it got on them though. Perhaps some of the sagas mention something.
I've found more pictures by the way! And will re upload the video with the additional pictures sometime in my lifetime I'm sure. I found the nude self portrait pencil drawing from Albrecht Durer when he was a teenager.
Exactly. And perhaps a week or so ago Val made a very valid comment about hair care with cultures other then the Anglos. Asian, Native Americans apparently made great use of oils which no doubt extented their hair lengths as well as made it look to be more healthy which it would have been.
Looking forward to the re-upload video and so glad you are making these. Thanks! :-)
