I was on here a while ago asking about braiding length, but I think it's about time I posted some pictures, too. I've been growing it for about a year and a half now. It was something I never really thought I would do, but my sister suggested I try growing it out one day when I mentioned needing a haircut. I thought, well, why not? and figured I might as well try it, just to see what it was like. Well, suffice to say I'm enjoying it immensely now that it's finally out of the awkward stage. I recently started pulling it back when I need it to stay out of my face, but most of the time I just let it be free because I like the way it feels. Naturally it's been a big hit with my girlfriend, too. I'm guessing that if every man tried growing his hair out there'd be a lot fewer short-haired men around.
Grow long and prosper, gents!
Awesome hair JohnWA and to think you have your own sister to thank for "growing it out" as the saying goes:)You hair looks great on you as it had to be an improvement from the short haired you. Thanks for posting and hopefully you'll stick with the longhair over the long haul my friend.Cheers
Mark
You have one cool sister! My girlfriend loves my long hair very much. In fact she found me on an online dating site just by typing in "long hair" as a search, however, the truth is I could have gotten a girlfriend much quicker if I was just an average shorthaired nobody. I blame this (my) prolonged wait on culture and geography. Long hair is more popular in certain places than others on men. New York City, where I live, in the Outer Boroughs, long hair isn't too popular at all on men, especially on White folks like myself. The ghetto and immigrant culture that so many seem taken into here (not so long ago) has given me a hard time in trying to find a desirable mate. These alien cultures gained dominance I believe due to New World Order aspirations. For years I stood out like a sore thumb where I live. Now long hair is slowly starting to emerge to get more popular here for men. I'm very aware of my surroundings, so I know. I think the places long hair is most popular in the USA for men is on the west coast and maybe around the D.C. area.
I love the new world order reference, James
Yes James. I mean look, men from the eariest times wore their hair long but what happened in times of war? Hair length became short for men. Naturally men should have long hair too. It's the people behind the curtain (the people printing our money supply) who are basically setting the standards for the masses to follow. We no longer should allow them this power to reign over us like they're gods. We should live and do whatever we feel is right morally and in our conscience, as long as we violate no one else's liberty at the same time.
Nice post! Wouldn't be great to see a President of the US with shoulder length hair! I'm in northern NJ and long hair is def not popular here...

Looks great, John! Cant wait until mine grows back out to that length again! Keep it growing, bro!
Your hair looks good and suits you: The support that you have had from sister and girlfriend is good to hear - and a stark change from some that we read about.
Fabulous progress for a 'year and a half or so' progress!
Congratulations and best of luck on your Longhair Journey!
Great mane, hoss! I agree with you about more guys trying long hair out. Welcome to the ranks! :D
