Hi hairy bretheren,
Great to see so many amazing heads of hair and so many new 'growers'.
Some of you may remember me, and if you don't here is an update of where I am today. I Had past mid back length hair and loved it immensley, but had a trim for a break (not all of it or anything as silly as that). However i am letting it grow again now and will leave it for a year or two. My hair is still as chaotic as ever but I have noticed it's got a fair bit thinner, oh well old age I guess! LOL!
cheers everyone
Still looking great Dave, and compared to some of us, you're a mere "spring chicken"
Thanks Ian, I guess i feel older as I will be 45 in a couple of weeks :(
cheers my friend
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the update and good to see you posting. It's great to see that manic hair of yours and mean't in the nicest possible way of course. Looks in great shape and glad your letting it grow.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi John, good to hear from you, yes it is coming on quite well. Hope all is good with you.
cheers Dave
It's great seeing you back again as I for one miss you when not posting like you used to.I know life gets busy but I'm happy to see your hair looking as exotic as ever my friend:)I remember you trimming it back awhile ago but certainly not short.I don't think your hair looks thin at all as you still are a young gun buddy;)Cheers
Mark
Hey there Markie-babes, yeah life is manic but at the same time fun. Thanks for your comments as always, and I've been missing you lot for a while, so maybe its time to become more active again. Cheers my friend.
Dave
Nice hair bud--Really like the "chaotic" look as you say it. I think it looks fantastic. Good luck and keep it growing!
Thanks 'J' for the comments, much appreciated.
I am one of those types that doesn't fiddle with my hair, I like the natural look.
cheers Dave
Hi Dave,
It's great to see you post and to have an update as well. Your hair has a uniqueness to it that's really cool. The chaotic, wild look suits you very well.
I don't notice any difference in the photo as far as thinning. I think you hair's waviness would serve to mask any which is a nice advantage to having curly hair.
Best,
Jason
Hey Jason, great to hear from you. Thanks for the comments, and yes I do like the chaotic wild look (good job really!), and yes you could be right it may hide any thinning that dead straight hair may not otherwise.
Hope all is well with you,
cheers Dave
Hi Dave,
It is so good to see you again, and thank you for swinging on by to give us your update. Your "untamed look" is still as great as ever, and cheers to you in your latest hair growing journey. By the way, I don't see any evidence of thinning either.
Take care, and please don't be a stranger!
David
Hello David, great to hear from you as always. Thankyou for your kind comments, the thinning doesn't seem that evident on first impressions, but when I tail it the part where the tie goes round is definately smaller than it used to be!!
Thanks again, see you around
Dave
Hey there Davie Nutties!
Good to hear from you and see your wild mane getting long again.
Hope all is good on side of the Pond.
- Oren
Hey 'Nero'
Great to hear from you and thanks for stopping by and adding your kind comments.
All well over here, looking forward to some sunnier, warmer weather!
Trust all is well with you,
Dave
I've been wondering about you, was absent myself for sometime and noticed a lot of MIA regulars. Hair does thin with age, but yours still appears to retain much of it's nuttiness (after all, you ARE nuttidave!). You might want to check out Aloe Vera gel. Comes in a bottle in the skin care aisle. Don't worry about the green or yellow tint, it won't dye your hair a funny color, it's a weak dye for aesthetic purposes.
Aloe is a humectant, it makes the hair cuticle swell, which makes hair appear thicker. It also retains moisture in the hair. Mix a blob in your hands and work it through damp hair. If you oil or condition hair with a leave-in, do the Aloe after, wait a few minutes for the hair to absorb the oil or conditioner. Aloe gel is very cheap, a few bucks for a bottle. If you don't wash every day, you can spritz hair to dampen, then apply the Aloe. When dry, hair is soft; no weird crunchy feel. Something to consider if you continue to experience thinning with age.
Hi Carol, and thanks very much for your kind comments and also the great info on healthy hair. I will definately look into it.
Take care, Dave
Whatever way you like wearing your hair, I say go for it!
I love the waviness and overall texture of your hair-definitely what I hope to end up with as mine progress past my cheeks and jaw.
Thanks Allen, and I'm honoured that I can be an inspiration.
cheers Dave
Hey Dave, Looking as great as ever. A mere youngster at only 45. I turned 58 last November.
peace, jonalbear
Jonalbear, how many months did you take grow it that long, thats about the length im going keep mine at , im at 22 months now, I think 36 months + ought to do it for me , James
James, About 60 months or 5 years! Good luck on your journey!
peace, jonalbear
Hey Jonalbear, great to hear from you and your comments are much appreciated. If I look half as great as you I will be a happy man, seriously :)
Take care, and have a brilliant spring over there,
Dave
Hi Dave,
It is always a pleasure to hear from you and I hope to hear more from you at this board. Your absence has made this forum a little less richer then it could otherwise be.
Hope all is well with you Dave,
best,
Duncan
Hey there Duncan, thankyou so much for the kind words, I do miss you guys and I really must make time to drop by more often.
Take care and I hope life is treating you well my friend,
Dave
Hi Dave
Hey, I remember you well and what a great update this is! (Good thing I stopped by the board just in time today.) Your "chaotic" hair is looking great but sorry to hear about some thinning. But, one sure can't notice it at all in the photo! :-) At this point I wouldn't really even give this a worry.
Take care an hope you are having a great week.
Justin~
Hi Justin, thanks for dropping by and sending some kind words out, things are coming along nicely. I hope your hair journey is progressing well.
Take care, see you around,
Dave
Hey Dave,
I'm not sure, if you remember me...so I attached a photo that I made today (hair only finger combed).
Your hair looks great as always, I think this length suits you very well and really works for your wild hair-type. The thinning isn't noticeable at all...I would be lucky to have such full hair at your age, I think.
I thought you were much younger, maybe in your 30s or something...but I'm not the greatest at estimating the age of other people, I guess...
Good luck growing it to it's former length...was it at terminal-length when you trimmed it back? When I trimmed mine to shoulder-length last year it "stopped" growing at waist legth (the bangs wood reach my belly-button when stretched), but it was (and is) also really damaged...but I don't think it could grow much longer than that (which is totally ok for me).
Cheers,
Herb2992
Herb, Wonderful color and curl!!!
peace, jonalbear
Hey Herb, yeah of course I remember you, although I can't remember seeing a picture, so thanks for posting one, and as Jonalbear says, you have an amazing mane, really awesome my friend. My hair grew to approx 6 inches from my belt i would say, so really a cool length, and now I want to grow long again. So fun times ahead.
Take care my friend,
Dave
Thanks to both of you for your nice comments!
You both can be proud of your manes, too, especially considering your age...I often wonder what I will look like when I turn 40 or 50. Well, I think not worrying and being happy is the best.
Indeed Herb, worry and stress are very bad for you. Be positive and stay chilled and things will be much better for your health :)
Dave
Herb your hair looks awesome! good length!
Hello Dave! Your hair looks a lot like mine on my days off. :) I can certainly relate to hair that's feeling thin. If I just wash and air dry mine without combing, it seems to lack volume. Apparently hair tends to shrink in diameter as you grow older, so the decrease in fullness is not unexpected. As long as you're not loosing more than the usual amount it's nothing to worry about. Isn't growing older grand? LOL
--Dale
Great looking head of hair, and a fine beard, Dale!
- Oren
Thanks Oren! One of these days I hope to get around to posting a proper set of photos. ;)
--Dale
Hey Kansasdude
Thanks for the reply, you are right old age doesn't come alone, I really like the look you have there, very cool, cheers
Dave
Hey Dave,
Great to hear from you!!
I don't see any of this evil hair-thinning that you're talking about, as this recent pic of you looks FANTASTIC -- although I do admit to experiencing hair-thinning myself due to age (now that I'm in my late, very VERY late 20's... Ahemmmm)....
Please don't be such a stranger -- your presence here has been greatly missed!
- Ken
Hey Ken
Great to hear from you, and sorry I missed your 21st birthday let alone your 22nd, can't beleive that!
My hair doesn't look that thin when down, but when I tail it the part where the band goes is way smaller than it used to be.
Thanks for your kind words and it's cool to be back.
Have a great weekend :)
Dave
I think your hair looks awesome before you know it it will be shoulder length---happy growing!!
Dee.
i hairy bretheren,
Hey Dee, thanks for the message. That is a very cool picture of you, great effect, your hair and facial hair look really great.
Cheers, see you around :)
Dave
Hey Dave thanks! Don't have the facial hair except for some dirt under my chin! lol..My hair around the chin and beard area has been getting really gray almost overnight...I'm Ok with my age but the grayish-beard makes me look a lot older.(Not that there is anything wrong with gray hair)Just not ready for it yet-surprising my hair is not that bad-just some stragglers---However I do use a henna gloss which brightens my own natural color and it's been awesome for the conditioning of my scalp and hair...Anyway good to meet you man!
