Guys-
Since being unemployed I had to stop taking my hair vitamins which were 14 bucks a month...I did not mind paying for them because they were doing wonders for my hair. However, it's been 3 months since I don't take anything...These vitamins had a lot of milligrams of Biotin and other stuff.I've looked everywhere for just simple Biotin but can't find anything...Any suggestions for a cheap but decent replacement? Thank you all!
Dee.
Hi dee,
Why not go to a Walgreen's or CVS store. If you check their sale fliers they run by one get one free on certain brands of supplements.I purchase 1000 mcg bottles of Biotin that contain 100 tablets. So for under $10 you end up with 200 tablets which will last you for awhile til the next sale. These offers are run on a fairly regular basis from what I've seen.Hope this helps you my friend.Cheers

You may want to check out Wal-Mart as they have a 120 capsules 5000 mcg bottle of Biotin for $7.00 (price here in upstate NY). Been using it for a few years. Not sure if it really helps hair growth but I still take one daily.
Hi Karsten, long time no hear! Well leave it to Wally World to have the lower price.lol.I'll have to check them out when it comes time to resupply.Like you I'm unsure of if the biotin is helping but I'm giving it a shot just the same.I'll try anything that'll keep my hair nice;)Cheers my friend:)

Here's what you are looking for when you go to Wally World.
Karsten- Thanks for the picture!!! This really helps out alot!! I was going to ask someone what the bottle looked like...Walgreens and CVS have some products but they are to expensive about 15 dollars or more per bottle---I need to check out Wall-Mart for sure--Thanks to all that responded to my thread!!
When I used the Biotin regularly I really did notice a good jump of length in my hair...It went from neck to pass my shoulders in no time-and I did shed a lot less...(My hair is really oily-so it never dries)I'm not worried about hair-loss just yet lol...I'm always seeing a good amount of new hair growth...And if I'm lucky to get my parents genes than I should have hair into my 70's lol...
Again thanks guys!! You are all a wealth of valuable information!
I would guess that price of $7.00 will be the same at most locations - and that gives you a 4 month supply of Biotin. Glad the picture help.
On the subject of hair shedding, I notice a big decrease when taking a stress formula vitamin. Started doing this after my operation when I was losing so much hair and I would have to say it does help.

I use the 5000 mcg size biotin too. I take only two of these capsules per week, one on Sunday and again on Wednesday. That divides out to 1429 mcg per day and has worked well for me. The price per mcg is cheapest this way.
You can even do what Scott does - open the 5000 mcg capsules and divide the contents into smaller daily doses.

I am certainly no expert on the effects of vitamins on hair
growth, etc., because I have never used them for that purpose.
All I can say is that my hair seems to be quite healthy + shiny,
with no breakage or split ends.
ON THE OTHER HAND: does anyone know if there is a vitamin that
keeps the GRAY away?
