I suppose hair is hair right? Well mine has not grown in 3 years anf thats driving me crazy. Ive done everything i can think of. Expensive shampoos and conditioners, vitamins ,brushing, trimming, not trimming. I dry my hair daily with a dryer and yes i dye it...not dying is not an option right now,,,besides it use to grow even when dyed. I have been on meds for depression for 2 years. Think it could be the meds? Dr says no..Anyways anyone with some good info on getting it to grow quickly i will be eternally greatful. I just found this site and was blown away you guys are great looking i love long hair on guys, always have. I feel like the kid who found the candy store...hehe

if you have to keep coloring in order to cover up roots that show your natural color then your hair is growing... it could be that the cumulative damage from repeated colorings and/or perms causes your hair to be brittle and break off before attaining much length.
if you are actually experiencing near zero growth then perhaps you have some sort of dietary imbalance- do you eat regular balanced meals? pay attention to what you eat and consider taking a good multi-vitamin.
Although the meds you are being given may not stop your hair growing, it does grow better when you are feeling healthy and happy, so if you are feeling depressed that will probably mean your hair isn't growing as fast as it would normally.
If one of the reasons you are feeling depressed is that your hair isn't growing, then you are in a vicious circle!
It isn't easy. You aren't going to stop being depressed just because I tell you it's good to be happy, but you have told us that you feel like the kid who found the candy store, so maybe we between us can help you just a little. Keep on looking at this site and others containing things you enjoy, and whenever you feel really down, remember that there's a group of guys here who care about you.
By the way- how long is your hair?
Hi Dawn,
It seemed to me that your hair is slightly dry. Did you layer, bleach or colour it frequently? What shampoo, conditioner do you use? Remember that hair, when left alone, it will deteriorate from daily wear and tear (even without you doing anything to it!!).
Much care have to be taken in order to maximize your growth. Avoid air drying as much as possible. Do not over-shampoo and try to find a good leave-in conditioner which is suitable for your hair.
IMHO, you're a beautiful lady and do not let depression get over you.
Cheers,
Jin
Oops, I mean AVOID BLOW DRYING, let your hair AIR DRY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Gee... sorry, my first message in a long time :))
well, ive been on antidepressents for 8 months (finished this week actually) and i hadnt really seen any noticable difference in growth rate before and after... ill keep you posted though if it speeds up soon.
How long is your hair now? Perhaps you have reached your terminal length already even if it's not too long... If your hair wasn't grown for 3 years, I bet you would have gone half-bald already!
