I had a study hall today in the cafeteria at school. I was just minding my own business, catching up on some Science work, like any other day in a study hall, when a girl friend of mine walked up to me with a big grin on her face. She asked "is it alright if I braid your hair?" now, relating to a post a while back, I said I thought my hair was too short and curly to braid, but I know this person really well, and I know for a fact that she braids hair like a pro, so I chuckled and said "You can try!" Responding to this, she pulled up a chair, took my hair out of the ponytail it was in, asking "so what do you want: french braid, or regular braid, cornrows......." "just a french braid, please." And I won't lie, she did a very good job. So my question here is what would you guys do if you were back in high school and someone asked YOU the same thing?
I'd gladly accept as you did (great job). You're a lucky guy to have a young lady want to do this for you. She sounds like a nice girl. I'd have asked for her phone number and when she's available for a date.
That's a cool story Corvus as it must have been a real surprise when she approached you.Who knows maybe you'll get the braid itch and make that a replacement for your ponytail or at least another option.Glad you had fun with it:)Cheers

My girlfriend French braided my hair the other day. I would have done the same thing you did, I dont see anything wrong with it at all. Quite the contrary.
"Of course you can!" and make sure I gave her a big thank you and offer my hair for braiding practice anytime.
Not a problem.
Sure!
I would have gladly accepted.
I would take that as a high compliment and gladly accept the offer!
Once in a while, young women will ask me if they can braid my long beard.
Thanks for sharing your fun experience.

I'm still in high school and I get this from girls every once and a while, and I usually accept, even though it pisses my girlfriend off a bit. But oh well, there's nothing wrong with it really. Funny thing is it's usually the same few girls who want to braid my hair. Last year we actually had a day when my longhaired friends and I all got our hair braided by female friends.
I'm thinking I'd have done exactly what it appears you did... sat back and enjoyed the attention.
What would I have done if a female classmate started braiding my hair when I was in high school? I probably would've untucked my shirt and tried to avoid walking funny.
Seriously man, just enjoy it :)

I never let girls braid my hair because I only comb my hair is the shower once a week. The rest of the week it get's grudualy more tangled. Only on shower days or maybe the day after it's possible to braid my hair. But other then that, of course accept it!
Jann- great looking hair and braid---can't imagine how hard it must be to make a french braid---I can barely tie a normal braid...You have amazing looking hair!!
Well Corvus, I wouldn't have to be asked twice if i were in your shoes. The girls who hanged out with you enjoying your mane sound like they are worth knowing and probably like the sensuality of touching and playing with long hair. I too have had women want to do things with my hair and i am more then happy to enjoy quality the feminine company. So count your blessings! Enjoy the girls and your new temporary hairstyles!

I probably should mention my hair is only about shoulder length, so. I was really surprised she was able to french braid my short, thick, curly hair! And not even the slightest discomfort!
