Hi Hairy People,
Ever since I got my first computer back in '03, I've used the handle, "Urban Cowboy"... For those who don't know why, it's because I've done a lot of Country & Western dancing over the past 20 or more years -- as well as live in a large city (hence the "Urban" portion of the name).
No, I have never seen the John Travolta movie with that same name (in fact, I'm now AFRAID to see it, because I probably won't like it - LOL)....
In any case, from this point onward I would like to start posting under the name, "Kenin SF" -- or maybe I'll spell it, "Ken in SF"?
Thanks in advance for allowing me to pick a more boring, average-sounding name for me to post during my ever-encroaching "autumn years" of my life (ROLF)!
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken in San Francisco
PS - One of these days I should also update my avatar pic as well, as it's over 7 years old!
Hey Kenin SF,
I would not mind if you changed your name/handle.
I'm glad to know that you have a cowboy side to your personality. I'm a "closet" cowboy. I mean that I enjoy country music. I have several cowboy hats. I don't wear them, though. When I did wear them someone would say 'There's the cowboy!'. There is something that cowboys and long hairs have in common; both subcultures value individualism and individual self expression. We respect that and honor it in others and we want it for ourselves. Would you agree? However, I've found that some people do not appreciate guys who identify themselves in anyway as "cowboy" nor as longhairs. They will deride you and put you down for identifying with either or both groups. I guess that is why I have found this hyperboard to be a comfort zone; I have found a place where I can "let my hair down" and not be put down for it.
Just some of my thoughts.
Raymond
You have earned the right to call yourself whatever you please 'round here. In my mind, in the roughly 6 years that I've been a member of the MLHH, you have proven yourself to be one of the very pillars of this community.
