Just came across the board and have been reading through the messages - a lot of great hair here!
50's here with hair ranging for typical mid length in high school to recent buzz cuts. About 16 months ago I retired and joked I was going to be that long haired, bald spotted old guy with the grey hair and ponytail :-)
Been growing it ever since, though had a few setbacks with a cutter who's trim was longer than I was comfortable with. Found a new one who does as I ask and that I feel very comfortable with.
Currently it about to the length to cover a shirt collar in back. Will send a pic sometime soon.

Hi Ken, Welcome from another retired long hair. I retired 10 years ago and let mine grow. It seems like forever it took to get to below my shoulder blabes. I want to make mid- back at least. I stopped the trims a year ago. I don't wear it in a pony tail only if we are going out. It feels so good just letting it blow in the wind. Well anyway welcome to the group. Tommie
Hey Ken,
Welcome to MLHH, Dude!
You'll find this hyperboard to be a place of fraternity and support. The guys will be only too happy to share their experience with you in regard to hair care and encourage you in growing out your hair.
Make yourself at home; you're among longhair bros.
I hope that we'll hear from you a lot.
Raymond
And welcome frome me too. I retired 3 years ago and it's good to have a mix of young, middle and older with a common focus on long hair. Good luck
