this is either month 5 or 6, not sure when my last haircut was but it was around nov or dec. i started from about 1/2 an inch and its around 3 1/2 or 4 inches now. well the hairline hairs are shorter then the rest by about 1/2 and inch
Your hair is going to be gorgeous. You have body and wave that will look fantastic as it grows, Just have patience during the "awkward" Phaze. Hold the scissors at bay and you will love the result.
Hey alex,
Great Hair, Dude!
That's normal that the hairline hairs are a litle slower in growing. Don't sweat it; they'll grow eventually.
Do you have a goal length? If I were you I'd go for terminal length. This is what I hope to do.
Keep us posted on your progress.
Raymond
thanks,
i thought it was normal but wasnt sure. yeah im going to grow it till im stepping on it lol, well i heard that hair reaches a certain length then stops growing. so i guess im growing it till i reach that length
Hey alex,
Hair grows at a rate of 0.5 in. per month on average. There is terminal length which is the point that your hair will reach and it doesn't grow any longer and that length is different for everyone. Genetics has an influence on this and yet there are hiar growth stimulents. I'm not really qualified to speak about them so suffice it to say they're out there. I'll let another longhair brother tell you more about them. Hair cair is crucial for achieving maximum hair growth. It looks like your scalp provides a good amount of natural scalp oil to lubricate the growth of each shaft of hair. Shampooing every day will wash out your natural oil. Perhaps you should try shampooing every other day and get a good sulfate-free conditioner which you would leave in your hair; don't wash it out.
Some guys have grown their hair down to mid-calf length. I know of a girl who have grown their hair longer than their body. So enjoy the process of growing out your hair and see how long it will grow. I hope that you can grow it out until you're stepping on it. That could take over eleven (11) years. You'll be entering the awkward phase when your hair seems to have a mind of its own and will stick out here and part there. This will las tuntil about twenty (20) months of growth. Hang in there. Resist the temptation to cut. Just think of how beautiful your hair will look once you get past this phase.
Keep it growing!
Raymond
Congratulations on your progress! It looks like you're going to have some wavy hair :P It makes for some cool hairstyles, I think.
