I like my long hair and have been through a lot to keep and maintain it. My hair is just below my shoulder blades and I originally wanted it one length but had it layered due to the thickness. I don't want to cut it and thought thinning it may help me to deal with it, trying to get it dry, the heat of it, etc. Anyone had their long hair thinned? Grant (Wavey Gravey) thats what my smart ass friend call me. later.....
By thinning it, wont this make it actually thicker, because the hairs will be shorter therefor lying ontop of echother making a greather thickness? Maybe Im wrong.
When you say layered, do you mean the bottom of the hair that hangs is layered from the bangs to the back or the hair all over?
I thought thinning my hair would actually make it thinner, I guess I'll have to go in somewhere to get it cut and ask. I hate going in to get it cut because most of the time they just want to cut a whole bunch off. I like getting my haircut by women, but I wish I could fine a barber with real long hair that could understand. Yeh, like I see real long haired barbers all the time. I like the way my hair looks right now but keeping up with it sometimes isn't easy even if I have the time.
All of my hair is layered, even though it looks like it is one length all over. I can put it in a ponytail wet and let it dry (try to dry) the slight curl keeps the shorter hairs pulled back and sort of flat and smooth. If I shake it when its wet and let it dry the shorts layers make long bands and the rest gets curly and too big all over.
To avoid possibly going shorter do you guys think I should have it thinned? Discussing my hair with my friends or the guys at work is something I just done do. I appreciate your comments and this site. Later, Grant
