my hair? i wash it everyday or every other day. my sister told me to only wash it 2 times a week. how often do you guys with healthy hair wash it in a week(5 days)?....oh and also what shampoos are good and not damaging? i use johnsons & johnsons baby shampoo and its not damaging but i would like to hear if there is better options
thanks,
alex
alex, I wash twice a week and condition once a week. That is all I think is required. Any more than that with harsh shampoos is quite damaging in my view. I use Dessert Essence Organics fragrance free shampoo.

I only wash it once a week (only with conditioner). It will take some time for your scalp to ajust to this. So just start spacing out your washes more and more and see what works for you.
I shampoo and condition my hair every morning, and my hair is healthy and soft :)
I believe the brand that I have been using for a while now is suave.
I wash my hair once a week, sometimes less (haven't washed it in 2 weeks now) with sugar tensides and silicone-free vegan shampoo. It's really healthy and still growing - yeah.
I usually wash every two or three days, depending on what I'm doing. A lot of it depends on how much oil your head produces and how quickly your hair looks oily. If your hair is looking oily feel free to give it a wash. I think every two or three days works best if you have fine hair that gets oily quickly.
Interesting how it went with me. When very short daily, but when at waist and beyond, once a week is all that was needed save for a little accident such as falling head first into a mud puddle! LOL :-)
I don't think there's any right or wrong answer, you just have to figure out what works best for you. What currently works best for me is to shampoo my hair about once a week, and just rinse and condition on the days in between. As my hair has grown longer the time between shampooing has gotten longer as well.
As for shampoo, I don't have any particular brand preference I usually just select one that is safe for color treated hair as it should be gentler so as not to strip out colorings.
