Just picked up some Coconut Conditioner for the hair from the natural foods store. Just wondering if this is what most of the members are using or is a coconut oil paste in a jar ? The lady said it was edible also. Any help would be great .
Thanks
Glinka
I use extra virgin coconut oil in a jar. I don't want to use anything else other than pure coconut oil.
Rich,
Thanks for getting back to me with your advice.

I use Vatika (most hate the smell) or Parachute 100% Coconut Oil
in the blue bottle. I buy it at Indian Grocery stores for $3.75 for 16oz.
I massage it in my scalp and let it set for a few hours then Shampoo and Condition 1x per week. If my hair gets dry I use a small dab because a little goes a long ways.
It is also great for your skin and you can eat it lol
Hey RS,
Thanks For the tip and the advice. I think it was the same stuff in the shop I went to !
Thanks again
Glinka
Yes, it needs to be Virgin, and say that. With just one ingredient on the label. Otherwise it could be bleached, over heat processed, and have it's vital healing properties damaged.
John,
Thanks for your answer. This stuff is expensive ($16.00) for a 32 oz. jar, least in the small shop a I went to. Will have to shop around for better price.
Peace ,
Steve
Steve,
Yes, it can be expensive indeed ! I get, I think, 8 ounces or so for 6.99, it's a whole foods brand, cheapest I've found, but if it's got any sort of hype about it, they know it's good stuff and charge a kings ransome for it. Lol. ;p
Funny thing about Coconut Oil, just be sure the temp around you is above 70 degrees, the oil will stay liquid and it's GREAT for hair (smells good to, it you like coconut). Below 70 and it turns back to a solid and your hair hardends up like straw. I've mix mine up with a little Olive Oil, it seems to work ok.
Frank
Frank,
Thanks for your response. So its Coconut oil then, and thanks for the tip. Do you do your mixture before a shower after a shower, or just any time?
Steve
I'll work a little throught my hair while it drying after a wash, then work somemore through it a couple days later. Try different routines, see what works best for your hair.
Frank
Thanks Frank I'll Try that out
