hey whenever i see longhaired guys i hardly ever see them with there hair hanging loose, its always in a pony tail, i have never personally seen a longhaired guy with his hair not in a pony tail. Why do all the ones i see have there hair like this, i like only put mine in a pony tail when my hair just doesent like me every once in awhile. and the place i see most longhaired guys is wal-mart and carnivals, i also see way to many mullets at carnivals, last time me and a friend counted all of them, there was 14 of them and we dont know what you call it when you got long hair but your bald on-top but there was to man to keep count of on those, i guess they were all once longhaired guys that couldent except that they where bald and the long hair was saying goodbuy.
I rarely put my hair in a ponytail. The only times I do are when I'm working on the yard or something, or if I'm just having a bad hair day. I think those who do either do it for work or just because it's easy to pull it all back.
I keep mine in a pony tail most of the time simply because it's practical, especially when out doors in wind and rain! At home, in the evening, I let it hand loose.
I think it looks good in a ponytail.
oh and the guys with long hair on the back but going bald on top I like to call "skullets"
I've noticed this, too, about most longhairs keeping their hair in a ponytail. Personally, I'm wanting to grow it long just to wear it out. =D I like it that way a lot. Plus, I don't think I'd look good with a ponytail. But of course I'll try it and wear it in a ponytail when I feel like I need to. Of course, I'll be so glad that it's long enough to have to worry about a ponytail that I won't know what to do. =]
I keep mine in a ponytail at work (during the week). When I'm at home it's usually down; also on the weekends. I'll probably wear it in a ponytail more often when it gets hot during the summer here in CA. Anytime I go out to a club or bar -- I ALWAYS wear it down. It just depends on the situation. Also, when I'm "with" my girlfriend I wear it down. Women love the feel of the hair on their bodies!
I wear mine in a ponytail when it's hot/humid outside or if I'm at work-basically when I don't wanna impress anybody.

It keeps it out of the face and off the neck when its hot or rainy, and stops it getting caught in things and if its looking bad down, then it gets tied. Its just a practicallity thing.
i simply like wearing my hair in a pony tail. It is practical and I think it looks great. I used to wear my hair loose as a teenager in the 70ths; this was also great.
