In High School I had long hair and loved it , had this crappy fast food job that demanded I cut my hair I did and was fired the week after words . Now at 39 Im finally in a position where I can grow my hair long again , Its been about 8 months and I'm happy so far with how its turning out . I don't remember so much shedding though . Any advice comments would be appreciated .
Looks good and keep it growing..
Thanks , funny thing on facebook when I started posting new photos , Ive goten over 30 replies to " GET A HAIRCUT" , , where as on my birthday I may get 2 well wishers .....

I can see that , Im getting comments that I look like Benisio Del Toro from Fear and Loaving in Las Vegas .
Hey man your hair looks great! It's going to look really cool when it's long! It's gonna have some awesome waves...My hair looked like yours when it was that short...have fun growing it!

Welcome aboard and welcome to the "born again" longhair club!
I made my return to long hair at age 40. It has been 7 years now and I have not looked back. In recent years I let my beard grow terminal, too.
You're shedding the same number of hairs you've always shed - they are just longer and more noticeable. Certainly a lot less than what was previously ending up on the barber's floor.
Onward and Downward!

I was in a similar position - I decided that at 39, I was too old for short hair, and have not cut or trimmed since, and that was almost 17 years ago.
Good luck and enjoy the journey!
Wow you have great hair, so thick, mine is thick maybe a bit less curly/wavy than yours. Can't give much advise, myself I used loads of gel for the first 18 months or so, but it's worth it.
Taks care,

Hi Simple39.
You have a truly outsatnding mae, it is very thick, and you are off to a good start. I am sorry that you lost your job in the past due to intolerant people, but glad that you are in a better situation now.
Keep it growing,
David
Most often, if people like you or your work, they will not mention your hair. If they don't like you, they will harass you about your hair hoping you will leave. If you don't leave, they will fire you, whether you cut your hair or not. This is why cutting your hair for a job is generally not a good idea, unless you want to have no job and no hair.

Amen bro , that sums it up exactly how it happened . Lost the girl I was dating when I cut my hair as well (that was probably for the best if she left over a haircut)
