With the last month being such a downer due to the loss of my two cats Cleo and Cammi I can happily say I've adopted a new kitty as a result.I selected, or should I say was selected,by Cooper this past Saturday at a pet adoption site held at a local Petco store. There were many kittens to pick from but Cooper seemed to have selected me as he came right over and greeted me out of a crowd of other cats:)So now he is home with me and getting acquainted with Opal.It is nice to have something positive happen for a change. The weather may be gloomy here but Cooper is a ray of sunshine:)Thanks to all of you who commented on my previous posts during the dark days when I was loosing cats.Cheers
Mark
He's adorable, Mark! I love his expression too! That is so cool that he came right up to you. You practically formed a bond from the moment you saw each other. You deserve such a good turn of events and I'm very happy for you.
Thank you Jason. It didn't take long for me to make my selection as it happened rather quickly.I took Cooper home that day after buying a bunch of goodies for him while at the store. The introduction to Opal went very smooth but I knew Opal would adapt well to a new kitty. It worked out well as I'm off from work for the week for vacation so we can spend some time together:)
Mark
Hey Mark, that cat is beautiful and I love cats myself! I am sorry to hear the loss of your other kitties and glad you found a new friend :)
Thank you Mark for your reply.Cooper is very cool and it is nice for this to occur since last month was very sad loosing two cats a couple weeks apart. It's about time something nice happens for me.I'm glad to hear you are a cat person too Mark:)Cheers
Mark
That's one cool cat. He's definitely got a mellow attitude. May all continue in this mellow direction.
Hi Rktect, yea Cooper is quite a personality:)I wish I had half the energy she has shown me the last few days.Looking forward to many years of fun with him:)Cheers
Mark
Glad to see you've found some light in the dark Mark. He sure is a great looking cat, I hope he keeps you comfort and happiness.
Cheers, James
Thank you James for that:)Certainly I was tiring of the sadness since the beginning of the year.Winter is depressing enough without having to cope with very ill pets.I'm glad to turn the page on a new chapter now. It'll be fun having a young kitten running around.Cheers
Mark
Congrats on the new kitty! What a cutie-patootie! I'm sure Opal will be accepting of a new cat within time. Make sure you have lots of toys; like most rambunctious kittens, he's in a playing mood. He's even batting at your camera (or was it your hair he saw)? All that energy will bring lots of joy, after all the grief you've had. Kitty hugs to your new baby.
Hi Carol, thank you so much for your response.I knew after Cammi had passed it was time to give a new kitty a chance at having a real home.To think just over two weeks ago I had to take Cammi in to be euthanized unexpectantly after finding out how ill she was.As for Cooper he plays with just about anything including my hair!LOL.Oh well I'm not going to complain because he gives me that look;)LOL.Hope your having a nice week in spite of this damp weather we are having.Show me some sun!

Hair is a free toy, can't beat free. Yeah, I want some sun, the whole Delaware Valley is under this dark cloud for the whole week. Waiting for a bright sunshiny day. Cue that old Johnny Nash tune from the 70's....

He is really cute. Hopefully he will get along with Opal OK. After the tragedy of losing 2 cats in only a month, may Cooper give you some real joy in your life.
Scott
Hi Scott, hope you are having better weather than I'm currently having.Cooper is very cute and quite playful as I'm glad to have him around. He has already passed the Opal test so that hurdle has been cleared. Now I'm looking forward to many years of enjoyment from the two:)
Mark

The weather is horrible, rainy and cold. I have had to cart my bike in my car to rain free places to get my daily exercise. I am OCD about it and will drive up to 350 miles round trip to gat a SAFE and dry ride. I drove a little under 200 miles in the past 2 days.
Scott
Scott, it sounds like you are having the same kind of weather as I am here on the east coast.Ever since Saturday it has either looked like its going to rain or has actually rained everyday since.I don't think I could drive far enough in a day to avoid this crummy weather.
Mark
Wow, don't worry about the planet then!!
;)
Hello Cooper!
Make a Markie proud and be Opal's buddy!
Sounds like a purr-fect match.
- Oren
Hi Oren,Cooper says "Hi" back at ya:)Opal, being a tad older, hopefully can keep up with Cooper's activity level.Otherwise I think the two will ultimately be best buddies:)
Mark
Hi Mark,
I am delighted that you have found a new kitten, and I have to say that Copper is adorable. No wonder you fell in love with him instantly! I am sure that your Opal will be happy to have a bew companion as well, and I hope that they get along perfectly!
Take care,
David
Hi David, thank you for you response as it is nice having a new kitty around:)Fortunately Opal is a friendly cat and should have no problem getting used to Cooper being here.Hope you are having better weather up north of the border as its really been wet here.Boooooo!LOL.Cheers
Mark
He's beautiful, congratulations!

Mark, Cool Cooper!!!-------------Another name starting with C.
A tradition or a coincidence?
peace, jonalbear
Hi JB, yes a lot of 'Cs" probably by coincidence.Cooper already was named when I adopted him, which I thought was cool one, so decided to keep it.Hope all is well with you my friend:)Cheers
Mark
Adorable kitty there, Mark. Glad things are starting to look up for you, my friend!
Hi Rich.I couldn't have phrased it better myself as it does feel good having a new kitty around but I'll always remember the ones who passed as they were great friends to me.Thank you so much for your response my friend:)Cheers

Thank you Ken for your kind response.Cooper is very cute and quite tiny at only 7 weeks old.He purrs all the time and is certainly playful. It'll be fun to watch as he developes into an adult even though I'll miss the kitten in him:)Hope to catch you on the phone this weekend my friend.Cheers with hugs:)
Mark
