Hello there. This is the first time i post , although i have used this site as inspiration many times during the journey of my growth. I haven't cut my hair for a long time (2 years without cuts in april this year) and i must say, i still like it as much as i did the first time i could tie it up in a pony tail. Anyway, ill get to the question. I'm in my last year of highschool and this friday I'm attending a banquet with all the other students and teachers. I was wondering if you people could give me a idea or fashion advice about a hairstyle witch allows me to display the full awesomeness of my mane without looking too feminine. All advice and feedback is much apreciated.
Hi, and welcome to the board. I would say that your mane looks awesome as it is, but I leave the "fashion" ideas up to my collegues.
Best wishes - and enjoy
Is that bow tie big enough for you? I think you need a bigger one. Lol.
Hi !! Welcome.
OK. My hair idea. If it were me, I'd wash it, then put in a little coconut oil in the shower, then using water as hot as I could stand and combing it through to distribute it. Then I'd bend forward letting my hair fall straight down above my forehead, shake it a little to break it into ringlets, wrap it in a towel briefly, then setting the towel aside, bend forward again letting my hair fall, which seems to make it curly, and put my hands flat underneath it, bring my hands up to push the hair against my head, letting it back down, and repeating that a few times, then rolling my head as I stand back up, letting my hair fall behind me. All that gives lots of volume & curl, but in a very natural and masculine way. Then I would try to do nothing to disturb it any more. The coconut oil will hold it together in ringlets like a mousse or gel. You'll look like a movie star and it will have lots of volume and catch the light nicely.
Nice to meet you!

Every spring my vet school has a "vet prom." A friend of mine really wanted to french braid my hair for it... but I shaved my head a couple months before :/ !!! so I never got to try it out. I think it could have been cool. Honestly I always think of the beast in Disney's Beauty and the Beast when his servants pretty him up for Belle, haha. Good luck with whatever you choose!
I'd recommend a little facial hair if you're able (a short-cropped, nicely trimmed beard or goatee), with your hair in a half-ponytail.
The picture above is a good example... this would look nice with or without the braid.
That's an awesome photo of this style which is my all-time favorite way to wear my hair. I'm curious is that a man or a woman?
I just found this picture online, and am not sure whether it's of a man or a woman.
I've always regarded it as a rather masculine look, and your own pictures demonstrating this style are among the best I've seen!
Thanks Val! There's something elvish about the look.
Wow. I agree with Jason...Fantastic hair. What shine to it .
Looks like an oriental mane. Pine straight with lots of luster

Hello Sz: I think your hair would like fine hanging on your shoulders long and loose just as in your picture. You have beautiful hair, nothing femine about.Do what you feel comfortable with. Tom
To be quite honest I think your hair sitting natural is a hot look, reminiscent of a classic 70s rocker. I will say I think your bow-tie is a bit over the top ;p.
Your hair looks fantastic, your outfit not so much.
LOL, Jason, I couldn't agree with you more!
I regret to say that if that is the apparel you plan to wear, ie it is a fancy dress event, then you need do nothing with your hair, it will be fine down. Just wash it as you might do any other day.
If you plan on wearing a suit then I would suggest a pony tail.
Wear it in a nice low ponytail
A pulled-back half-tail. Half-tails are quite masculine. You have the right face and appropriate hair length for doing a half-tail. The advantage of a half-tail, is it keeps hair out of your face but lets you show off your whole length (and why wouldn't you, you earned it!). That was my immediate thought, without reading the other replies; half-tail.
Hi there Sz Andrei,
Well I'd say if you are going to the banquet in that get up I don't think there is anything you could do to your hair that would overshadow your outfit:)I'm also sure once the drinks start rolling all will be well my friend;)Cheers
Mark
ROFL!!! This is one time when looking at a pic of a guy with long hair where the hair length or style is definitely NOT "the issue" here!
Thank you all for the warm welcome and the awesome advice. Guess i should have said that i will NOT be wearing that outfit on friday(the picture was actually taken right before a play i participated in for mothers day.... long story....). Anyway, i didn't find anyone who could french braid, and i can't find coconut oil for the life of me. So, the option left are a half-pony or just let it hang free. I think i might just do a half-ponytail, because i've never done it before and i'm rather curious. Anyway, thanks again for all the advice , and i'm putting another picture here(same event ,but the picture's taken from the back so you can't see the bowtie:P). Enjoy
Seriously, go with the half-tale. It would look awesome on you! Dare to be different! Post a pic, or two if you can.
