Wow. o_o
Well look on the bright side, at least they aren't sneaking up and cutting it right off of people's heads... yet!
There were gangs in South America a couple of years ago who targeted girls in the street with long hair, they'd get behind them and cut off their hair. At the time it was said it was a gang ritual but you never know. Hair is expensive and, as the article says, demand is on the increase from rich nations. In Russia (where most European hair comes from) it's an industry and teenage girls are 'encouraged' to sell their very long ponytails to business people who then sell it onto salons in the west at a massive profit. Also Hindu temples in India make a fortune from selling hair from women who go there voluntarily to have their head shaved as an offering to the Gods. Its big business and where there's money there's corruption.
Hi Val,
Interesting Article. And people say, " growing your hair out doesnt pay " lol . This kind of reminds me when I was in my 20's, and not so self assured as I am now, I cut 16 inches of thick " virgin " hair off. My stylist suggested I sell it. Went down to a New York City wig maker and they gave me $ 1000.00 cash . They gave it to me so quickly afterwards I reflected I could of gotten more.
So fellas dont fall asleep in the park..... you never know....
ha ha
Glinka
interesting.
Are any of you guys familiar with the California Hair Bandit or
Trimet Barber?
any of you know of any similar incidents involving hair robbery?
I do know if some dude tried that on my girlfriend I would go ballistic on him!!
It wouldn't be difficult to justify the use of lethal force in defending oneself against an attacker armed with scissors. If someone tried this on me or mine, I'd stick it up his @$$.

It's considered an assault to cut someone's hair without their consent.
I just find it very strange that there seems to be people with such a preoccupation as haircuts.
I find this sort of phenomenon absurd, but somewhat frightening, honestly.
