Last year I decided to start growing my hair long for a second time, after having it short for a few years. It's almost shoulder-length now, but I've always wondered at what point you have "long" hair.
I'm still not sure, but I know I'm there again after I went to a Major League baseball game this weekend. I appeared on the big screen during a feature they call "Haircut Cam". It's sponsored by Cost Cutters, or some other similar haircut chain store. They show a series of people in the crowd who the cameramen apparently determine need a haircut.
I have to admit that I was flattered, and I got a big round of applause from the surrounding crowd. It's great to be back! And after lurking here for awhile, the Haircut Cam convinced me that my hair is long enough that I can consider myself "in the club" and I can actually contribute :-)
Hi Duane,
Well that seals it for you if you made the "haircut cam"!LOL.You are officially a longhair:)Honestly that's a new one on me but you know these sponsors are looking for some kind of edge.As long as it was just done in fun what's the harm.Nobody got hurt and you left that game with all the hair still attached to your head;)Cheers

Yea... would've been a 'little' less positive if they managed to catch him on camera, 'and' sneak some scissors behind him to cut his hair...
...you know, just for the giggles...
Now, now as that would not be funny at all.Yikes! If that were to happen I would take care of that "scissorman" with anything that isn't nailed down;)And that would be before the scissors are closed the first time.

I'm guessing the 'cam' would have something new to focus on...
like the "scissorman" being kicked down the stairs ?
Ah yes, the visuals would be priceless:)Certainly would make good video for the evening news;)

Well done, now just avoid scissors.
Hey Duane,
It sounds like a big CONGRATS are in order here -- and yes, it does indeed seem like you must be "officially" a member of the longhair club now (LOL)....
Seriously though, it's all really just a relative thing: what to one guy is "long", to another is just totally, "too short!"
In Bill Choisser's beautifully written article, "On Being A Longhair" (found in our Links section here at MLHH), I believe he mentions that a fairly world-wide view of what constitutes "long" on men is: when the hair touches the shoulders, Western Society tends to think of that as a big dividing line, because more conservative males would never allow their hair to get long enough to rest on or even slightly touch that far down onto the body... SHOCKING, isn't it? (LOL)
Take care -- and again, a big CONGRATS to you (and whatever you do, DON'T get a haircut - LOL)!!

Thats terrible, what do some people think they are doing? Who the hell says whether you are right or wrong, society really sucks sometimes.
Well done, you should have given the 'cam' the finger aswell.
cheers Dave
