Havn't done an update for may yet, so here goes. One pic from a few weeks ago, and one from a few minutes ago. My camera isn't the best, so the red shown in the pic is a bit diffrent from the reality.
So this morning i coloured my hair red with henna. Here's how i did it:
1. Washed my hair with a simple shampoo and no conditioner (to leave no residue in the hair). Made sure my hair was tangle free.
2. Mixed a bit over 1 deciliter of henna with a bit of boiling water, 2 tablespoons of honey and the juice of half a lemon in a bowl. It looked like liquid animal feces, and the smell reminded me of hay and rosehips (not neccesarily bad!)
3. Put on crappy clothes, plastic gloves and started to "massage" the mix all over my hair and scalp (while the hair was still a tiny bit wet). Later wrapped some plastic foil and a towel around my head.
4. Let it sit for a bit over 2 hours.
5. Rinsed it out, which was way easier than i thought. The bathtub was a mess, but it came off very easily too! The color was a bit more orange than i wanted at first, but it's already turning into deeper red :)
The hair feels a tiny bit thicker and softer, and i will keep doing this in regular intervals, as recommended by the package :)

Looks great, I did the same thing except mine was a Henna/Indigo mix to dye my hair a very dark brown and it came out great! Hair looks good dude :) I really like the red color it gave ya.
Hi Abstrakt,
Thanks for posting your update and procedure of applying Henna to your hair. Most of what you described in applying the glop is very similar to what I did except being I used Cassia it was mixed with apple juice not water.Next time, if I stick with Cassia, I would use lemon juice which should blonde up my grays better.Still maybe I'll get crazy and do Henna or at least a mix of some Henna with some Cassia. In my case a week after doing it I'd hardly notice any real difference than before.I finally washed my hair about a week and a half after the treatment.I still had to use coconut oil to allow my hair to comb easier after drying. So I'm not sure when I'll try this again but maybe in August.Anyway good for you giving Henna a try and thanks again for your update.Hopefully your happy with your hair:)

Yeah, the thickening effect seems to have gone away for me too. It lasted until i washed it the first time after the treatment. But it was definitely gone by the second wash.
Anyway, i'll probably re-do it on friday and keep the hopes up for a deeper red color :)
Hi Abstrakt, your hair is looking fabulous with or without henna.
Best wishes, Ian
