new thread
Hey there. My name is Erik. I've been lurking this board for a few years on and off, ever since I found it when I first started growing my hair out about three years ago and started searching up information (my last, and by that I mean truly LAST, haircut was August 8th, 2008).
Now, since I'm bored and kind of drunk, (and since I'm kind of extremely shy sober, haha) I figured I might as well join the party, for better or worse. Hey, it can't be worse than any other party I've been to, right?
Most of those who I would truly call "friend" are longhairs. My best friend, in particular, urged me in that direction. I never regretted growing it out, I really don't know where or what I would be if I had not. I really thank him for that. My family was against it (sort of) at first, but now they have absolutely no problem with it, and complaints in general are non-existent in person (I had one girl who complained by text message over my phone, and that's the only one I've ever gotten).
Now that I've introduced myself, hopefully with reasonable intelligence. Hopefully this works (this forum isn't like others I've been on, so bear with me... ), and it's a terrible picture, but let's see how it goes, shall we?:

Welcome to our party here in the MLHH and nice to have you posting in our community here. I hope you didn't mind and have taken the liberty to lighten the picture and you certainly have a great head of hair.
It's good to know that you have great support from friends and family thus far on growing your hair out and achieving the milestones so far.

Hairball/Mark - Haha, don't worry. I have no plans to cut my hair. I got it trimmed recently (after that picture was taken), about half an inch, but that's about the closest I'll come to a haircut anytime soon.
John B - I don't mind at all. My laptop webcam is terrible and the lighting in my room is awful, I'll try to get a decent picture up from a decent camera soon.
