A little late, but... The webcam settings were a bit messed up, and so was my facial expression, but here's my late june update anyway.
This marks 19 months since last real haircut, and the first whole month with henna. Not only did the henna color my hair red, but it also made my hair feel strong, soft, and got rid of ALL my dandruff. Unfortunately, my hair feels pretty "normal" again now, and my dandruff is back :(
I don't know how much longer i will let it grow, but at least a few more months, so i can celebrate my 2 year anniversary. My first goal is to make a FULL low ponytail, and i'm only a few inches away. After that, we'll see. I've got nothing against short hair - i just feel like having long hair at the moment. Unfortunately, that takes alot of time, so... :P
Hi Abstrakt, It just keeps getting better (and longer) well done. Best regards, Ian
If you do a coconut oil treatment once a week that will take of the dandruff problem. James / Tampa,Fl
Hi Abstrakt,
Your Henna treatment looks great as it certainly did make your hair red!At least I'll have an idea what my hair would look like should I choose to go that route.
I have to say it would be a shame if you decide to go short haired again after investing so much time and effort in growing it long.I agree not having anything against short hair as long its on someone else' head and not mine.Well it certainly is your decision but right now it looks fabulous.Cheers
Mark
Looks good--you wear it well! I think the color is great so maybe you should do the henna again?
Looking better and better with every update, Abstrakt.
Truly the mark of someone of patience and commitment.
Onward and Downward to the 2 year milestone!

I agree with hairball, to cut it short after 2 years, or just after the low ponytail would be a shame. I think the hair suits you well, and much like yourself I have nothing again long or short hair. I looked good with short, and I look damn fine with long hair, I get my Farrah Fawcett'do goin'. But yeah dandruff can be solved pretty easily with either coconut oil, jojoba oil (my favorite), or another Henna. Personally the Henna does you good, and either of the two oils are awesome in general.

Your hair looks really good. The henna worked very well. I am tempted to try henna myself due to damage at the ends. When your hair reaches over 3 feet long, damage is inevitable. I have heard it is a lot of work to apply.

Thanks, Scott! Good to know that you could tell from such a mediocre picture.
I understand your curiosity. Do you mean real henna that dyes your hair red, or just some strenghtening colourless "henna"-treatment? Anyway, it's not really hard to apply (on my hair lenght, that is. 3-feet-long hair might be troublesome). I just drained my hair in the mud, piece by piece, and then massaged it into all of my hair and scalp

Applying a mudlike substance to my hair sounds too difficult for me to attempt. For you, that henna treatment worked really well. Doing a followup photo in a month or two for comparison might be a good idea.

Hi Abstrakt,
Your hair does look excellent, the henna worked well, and your hair is growing quickly. Hopefully, you will hang in there and continue your hair growing journey.
Keep it growing,
David

Thank you, David!
I'll do my best. And yes, the henna did give my hair new "life", after many months of rather "boring" hair. The feel of freshly henna-dyed hair is great! (you should try it)
