I'm going to be 60 next month and I have been actively growing my hair out for the past 2 1/2 years. My wife found out that I'd always wanted to have it long, but had always buckled under all the pressure of parents, conservative friends, bosses, etc. I finally decided it was time to do it for me. And having her encouragement just helped me along with the idea.
You see in the picture that it's about four inches below the shoulders now. I am currently setting a goal of mid-back length.

Hi Steve, my hair is just falling an inch or so past the shoulders, I have found in the past when I have grown it out that from now on in (and also your length) things happen quickly and it seems to get longer each month - I guess the weight of it all comes into play.
