I thought that high school would never end. Now, I've only one more year of monotony and hair shearing. Although it's rather frustrating to not have all of my hair gather into a ponytail, I decided to show my current length before my last year, and my last set of haircuts. Can't wait to graduate! :D

Hi Venya, Thanks for the update. Sounds like you're really "enjoying" high school. Still, hang on in there, just think of all the years of growing out ahead!!
Regards, Ian
Ian,
I hear you. I used to be really bitter about hitting the barber whenever theyd say, You need a haircut, but with graduation so close, a little patience is a small price to pay for my nerves. Regards!

Phew busy day on the updates -excellent!
Great tail there Venya, it's a shame to hear that you have to have routine trims. At least you have many many years in which to grow and have fun with your hair in the future. Good luck with your final year :)

Dave,
If anything, Ive tried to take from it a sense of resilience and individuality, in a community so focused on homogeneity. Regards!

Hey Venya,
Awesome hair, bro!
Thanks for your encouraging words to me when I post my update. Please know that your messages are inspirational to me to continue to grow my hair even in the face of opposition. I just started to take biotin today to help my hair to grow.
Your hair looks beautiful, just awesome! I like the ribbon in the back to tie the ponytail.
What do you do to care for your hair?
What does the Russian word mean?
Your long hair brother,
Raymond
Ray,
Its hardly a trouble to provide encouragement for a fellow longhair. We must provide encouragement and a sense of comraderie to one another, if we shall ever find our respective niche in society. Yeah, man, Im trying to work on the biotin myself. As practically ever longhair fears androgenic alopecia (MPB), I want to nip it in the bud before theres any serious shedding. Good luck on your end! Never submit to the commands or pressure of others in regards to your locks, or your liberty.
Thanks, hoss. I cant wait to see where my hair will go once I graduate, and hope that my black ribbon will become my trademark.
As you were wondering, the Russian means, With regards. Its equivalent to the Sincerely, we use in English.
All the best, man! : )

Hi Venya,
Thanks for the update as your hair certainly looks grand and I too really like the use of that black ribbon on your tail.Certainly different than the standard fare ponytailer tie. Also I wish you the best in your graduation not only from High School but to the freedom to wear your hair as you please my friend:)
Mark
ps:I know I copied you ending but it's cool!Ha Ha
Thanks, Mark!
I certainly hope that more folks will come to appreciate my ribbon as unique, and not so much as peculiar. You seem to be a rather respected and friendly member of the board, man, from what I see, and I hope that your cats and yourself are doing well! : )

Your hair looks good. From what I have seen, it appears that they won't allow you to grow your hair past your shoulders. I had no idea that they were so strict on hair length in Russia. The good thing is that you will be able to grow it as long as you want a year from now.
Scott
The funny thing, Scott, is that I live in America. Catholic schools are very strict on male hair length. But yes, I cant believe that graduation day is so close! I long await the day that I will become a true longhair. Well wishes, man.

Wow, I got that assumption wrong. I saw the cyrillic letters there and guessed you live in Russia. Catholic schools can be strict on hair length. Don't they realize that Jesus had long hair? From your photo, it appears that they restrict you to hair just barely reaching your shoulders. Maybe you can argue that if long hair is OK for Jesus then is OK for you. The other option is transferring to a public school.
Scott
Im impressed that you know the name of the alphabet!
And in regard to their hair regulations, I believe that they are far more concerned with the enforcement of sex roles though it is beyond me why they would demand cleanshaven faces as well, other than the easily apparent reason of psychological emasculation. Regardless, it is disgusting, how focused they are on conformity, pretending to offer personal choice and freedom through their educational system. I do not mean to slight or insult any Catholic members of the board, but there are myriad points on which I disagree with their way of life.

i have done some research and i would consider what Jesus really look like, he of middle eastern decent and of Jewish decent he had hair like wool and was probably fairly dark skinned. im fairly certain he didn't look like that long straight haired blue eyed westerner i have seen photos of what the christian church thinks he looks like and the ones i have seen, he almost looks like he could be Scandinavian. im not trying to belittle anyone.i just wanted to point this out. James/Tampa,Fl
The above picture shows what forensic scientists believe the historical Jesus would have probably looked like. Click the link below to read a 2002 article from "Popular Science" magazine for more information.
The Real Face of Jesus
Yes I believe Jesus Christ probably wore fairly short hair if he worked in a physical occupation like carpentery and was highly unlikely to have been blonde and blue-eyed living in the Middle East. Plus being in humid and dusty environment. Long hair would have got in the way at work and Judas could only identify him to the enemy with that kiss on the cheek. I'm thinking Jesus was depicted as having long hair to help attain Pagan converts who in the centuries after Jesus' death still wore hair long and proud. The Roman Empire collapsed around the 4-5th century AD so short hair in most places hadn't become firmly established. Any 1600 years ago both Jews and Palestinians would have been the same ethnic group (unlike today where most Jews are descended from Europeans) and biologically the same except for different faiths.
If Jesus came back today he would blend in perfectly in appearance with today's Palestinians and Shephadic Jews.
Duncan
Your trademark bow-in-blond hair looks great, Venya, even though you can't pull it all the way back into a ponytail. One more year to go - I bet you can't wait! I work at a school and I never heard of such a rule. It must be hard, but hang in there and that day will be here before you know it. Good luck - here's looking toward tomorrow!
Sincerely,
Eric
Ive endured and waited through seven years for this. It will be so liberating to be freed of the tethers of societal indoctrination. No longer will there be an opportunity for them to legally take my hair from me! Hope that all is well on your journey! I remember that you may not yet be free of said manacles; may that day come sooner than later. Regards, Yoshiki! : )

Hello Venya,
You definitely have a good starting point for growing long hair. It shouldn't be too long before your hair will be touching or past your shoulders. Keep us posted!
Take care,
Neil.
I appreciate your sentiments, Neil. Regards!

Venya, good for you for keeping your hair as long as the school will allow. Your black hair tie is pretty cool too. :) Good luck in your final year of high school!
Thank you so much, Laura! Its awesome to find so much support here. : )

If you don't mind me asking where do you attend school?
is it some parochial school?
it sounds too strict in this day and age imho.
DyingforLongHair,
My school is parochial, yes. They are very focused on the enforcement of gender roles, and as such, pay close attention to such matters. Private schools enjoy legal invincibility through their state-recognized status as a private school, which maintains its own demesne of rules and regulations that the student must agree to abide by upon enrollment. Absolute дерьмо, but it is what it is, and graduations close enough anyway, so I just shoulder through it.
