Saw Deep purple, scorpions and dio last night, great show but man the buzzcuts almost outnumbered the longhairs, i really wasn't expecting that. Still tons of longhaired guys around though especially the older people. I was the only 17 year old there with hair passed my collar (im still in the awkward stage btw.) I still thought it would be like 99% longhairs.
I saw Deep Purple in Wolverhampton, England in the summer of 74 and while I did not especially look at the longhair/shorthair ratio, I think 50% longhairs is still good.

Are there many longhairs at the punk-rock concerts?
I just went to a pop-punk concert 3 days ago (Greenday/Blink182) and although there weren't an overwhelming majority, there were more longhairs than would be expected just walking down the street.
Last night I went to see Andrew W.K. They've got the hair, and on stage they know how to flaunt it. :-) Those of us on the floor who were longhairs definitely got into that scene in step with the band. The crowd was not heavily more longhaired than the general population around here, though, but A.W.K. is traveling with two bands who are punkier, and that might have accounted for that.
I expect to see a LOT more long hair at the Haight Ashbury Street Fair today! :-) It draws thousands, and many hundreds will be our kind.
